What is the purpose of this other than take down without pulling the trigger?
What happens when you remove it entirely?
Already took out the Mag disconnect leaving the lever in place.

The purpose of the sear disconnect lever is to drop the sear down so you do not have to pull the trigger to take the slide off the frame.
This is an issue on guns with a mag disconnect where you can not pull the trigger without a magazine in the frame but you then cannot remove the slide with a mag in the frame.
Hence the sear disconnect so you don't have to insert and then remove a mag to remove the slide.

I don't think anything happens if you remove it along with the mag disconnect as the disassembly problem that the mag disconnect creates then goes away.
You will have to pull the trigger like a glock in order to remove the slide once the sear disconnect is removed.

Which M&P do you have? My 10mm is now 10 days away from coming home. I'm curious about the mag disco removal, if it's the same.
it’s the same. There’s a sear disconnect and a mag disconnect. You can remove both enabling you to fire without a mag. To field strip you pull the trigger instead of moving the sear disconnect.

Another option is purchasing a non-CA sear housing block. Drops right in and you don’t have to mess with any disassembly

Did you replace the spring when you removed the mag safety lever?

The "non-CA" sear housings come with the sear deactivation lever. With the mag safety lever properly removed (or never had one), you gain nothing by removing the sear lever except 3 less parts in the housing.

My M&P 2.0 is the 4.25 full size model.
Removed the safety and plugged the holes as in this video:
Mag disconnect removed like this:
This leaves the lever that does nothing and the sear disconnect that isn't really needed.
This is different than my Shield X that would requied a different spring to keep the sear disconnect from moving.
Seems to me just taking the sear disconnect out at the same time as the mag disconnect would be much cleaner and simpler?
Thoughts?

yeah just take out that whole pin, Ive done it on all my m&ps.

No disadvantage other than not needed for take down with the mag disconnect out.
Just pull the trigger like on a Glock. Were all adults and know not to do this with a loaded gun.

Waste an additional 30 seconds to remove tool and release sear disconnect? Who has time for that? Pull the trigger like a man lol
Not a matter of time but unneeded parts in a gun. Keep It Simple Shooter. Do we need a LCI while we are at it?

When doing the I know how this works test at Turners 2 weeks ago, The guy made me physically put my finger in the chamber to MAKE SURE there is not a bullet there? Geeze I'm old but I can still see!
