Arizona accepts many forms of proof that you have received appropriate training. If your training certificate was issued by an NRA Instructor, that should do it. You may already have other suitable proof of competence:

N. An applicant shall demonstrate competence with a firearm through any of the following:

1. Completion of any firearms safety or training course or class that is available to the general public, that is offered by a law enforcement agency, a junior college, a college or a private or public institution, academy, organization or firearms training school and that is approved by the department of public safety or that uses instructors who are certified by the national rifle association.

2. Completion of any hunter education or hunter safety course approved by the Arizona game and fish department or a similar agency of another state.

3. Completion of any national rifle association firearms safety or training course.

4. Completion of any law enforcement firearms safety or training course or class that is offered for security guards, investigators, special deputies or other divisions or subdivisions of law enforcement or security enforcement and that is approved by the department of public safety.

5. Evidence of current military service or proof of honorable discharge or general discharge under honorable conditions from the United States armed forces.

6. A valid current or expired concealed weapon, firearm or handgun permit or license that is issued by another state or a political subdivision of another state and that has a training or testing requirement for initial issuance.

7. Completion of any governmental police agency firearms training course and qualification to carry a firearm in the course of normal police duties.

8. Completion of any other firearms safety or training course or class that is conducted by a department of public safety approved or national rifle association certified firearms instructor.

Phone interview completed 7/2/24
On permitium website my status shows as pending

I had mine on July 9th and am in the same boat. I've done my 16 hour training and just waiting to submit my records when I get the email to PTT.

Nothing Lucky. Coming upon 6 months since my interview. I understood that at this point it was just a matter of a supervisor double checking my application and moving to the next step. Unbelievably disorganized.

Wow they forgot about us July people. I called the ccw phone number and they did say it was on the supervisors desk waiting for him to check it. But it looks like other people are getting their PTT emails so I wonder what’s the hold up with ours.

Reading up on the latest from CRPA vs LASD in regards to the overly excessive wait times for CCW permits, I saw that the there is a court date (trial date) of November 17, of 2025 …I don’t see any change to their process for a few more years at the rate they are going.

Well my interviewer said about 3 months for me to get my PTT email and it’s been 6 but I hope you are right and I’m coming up in line soon.

Yes, everything was submitted and was checked during the interview. The only thing I wanted to change was to switch out two guns that I initially put on my application for two different new guns that I purchased after I had turned in my application. My interviewer asked me what I wanted to change and looked them up by serial number and added the new ones in for me. It didn’t seem so be a problem to switch them out.

6 months is a long time. I don’t know if you have any record that could make your application take forever. Try reaching out to them. Once I finished the interview call, I immediately received an email from the deputy.

Yea I'll reach out again on Monday. I called a few times yesteday but didn't get an answer. Maybe they were closed for the holidays. The recording said they're open Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm so l didn't try today.
