I submitted my training competency completion 8/24/2025. I got a call that went to voicemail and an email that said my application was approved and ready for final
Payment 9/12/2025. Earliest time available for pickup they had was 9/30/2025

Not sure what the hold up is for me… and a co-worker that I happened to run into at training. He finished and submitted a week after me (also lasd) so we are roughly on the same timeline.

That’s very annoying. Maybe they are taking into account I applied 2023? But I’m sure there is no logic to their reasoning. When I had my interview the interviewer told me it’s only 1 person reviewing the competency submissions

That must be it (which at least makes some kind of sense)... you are/were naturally ahead in the line due to your application date. Still, you'd think once training was complete they should be in "rubber stamp it mode"... and not the sloth stamper we saw earlier in the thread lol.

Did they call from No Caller ID and since it was a phone call, did you have to call back to schedule the appointment or is through the portal?

Absolutely crazy how many hoops you have to jump through just to conceal carry meanwhile other states will knock this out in 2-3 weeks beginning to end...

It was not a blocked number, it was a 323 area code and if you miss the call the automated caller will leave a message. Your email address will also get an email regarding the news of approval.

“Your CCW renewal application has been approved” is the email you get. No call. You follow directions in the email link for the final $17 payment for the actual card you carry. Once payment is made, you get another immediate email regarding scheduling an in person CCW card pickup via an online scheduling appointment. I tried calling to see if they allow immediate same day pickup…but they said NO! 1st available online pickup date is 1 month away. For example. If Permit renewed 9-15-25, 10-13-25 was 1st available pickup date. You then get a confirmation email regarding your scheduled pick up date…& your done.

Probably... I submitted mine a little over a week ago so will be interesting to see who gets notified first (if there is any logic to the process). I will of course update here when I get my notice to schedule pickup.

I was almost pissed at how fast my AZ non resident went... not at AZ obviously, I was approved in under a week, and will probably receive my Non res CCW in the mail within another week...it's just the damn irony of HOW F-ING long LASD applicants have to wait.

was yours a renewal? I submitted proof of training 8/14/2025 and still no word from them yet. My interview was back in the beginning of May…

My take since I uploaded my training docs was that I'd be lucky if I had it by Thanksgiving.

Yeah, it's frustrating.

Going on 2.5 months now. I don't think it's just me... I keep checking in with a co-worker I run into now and then and we are in the same boat. He completed a week after me. I have no doubt he'll track me down and let me know if he gets his pickup call (we work on a good size HS campus so I can go weeks without running into him ).
