Looking for suggestions...

Looking at either a built or factory gun. Capable of 600yd shots (I'm not a long distance hunter, but have access to a 1000 yd range)

I want it light weight AND collapsible. One of my ranches is about a mile pack in. Biggest game would be deer/pig. (308, 6.5, etc). I reload so caliber is not important - platform and weight is.

My current choice is the Sig Cross. Any other options that would fit the bill?

I would go with the Sig cross, my brother has it and we hunt together and he loves this rifle. Fits so nicely in his pack with the collapsible stock. His is the 6.5cm and has hammered coyotes and deer no problem.

I ended up pulling the trigger getting a used cross off the marketplace here.

There's always the Q Fix if you want to spend $3k, definitely has some advantages over the cross (mainly that its not a Sig product.) But you'd have to decide if the extra cost is worth it. I generally hear good feedback from people who have bought the Cross from me over the years. There's also the Christensen MPR with the folding stock, those are pretty sweet

Ive shot both. I love the fix but i can buy 2 cross rifles with proof barrels for $3k. I would rather put the money into glass and tags.

yeah, get a basic sig cross and a leupold mark 4 and that would be a pretty sweet package for less than a fix by itself

I have a NF and an Athlon already in the box ready to mount. My FFP Athlon had better glass than my Leupold with SFP for 1/2 the cost. May swap back to the Mark 3 for the weight reduction tho...

I was looking for something similar, something I can carry around while hunting rabbits so if I see deer bumping up ahead I can stop hunting rabbits and start stalking. My plan was for an "Elf Owl" in 6.5G with a 3x or 5x prism, then I saw the cross is lighter...

Still, that's a bunch of money for a speciality gun. Of course now that TC is making the Encore again...
