Question Looking for local 1911 gunsmith

HI everyone,

I'm looking for a local 1911 gunsmith or machinist to help me finish my Springfield project. What I need is LPI done to front strap and French (or ball) cut done to the slide. And if they do refinishing also that would be a bonus. I live in the Inland empire and willing to drive up to 50 miles one way. I don't want to ship with the way things are in this day and age. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

@willssmithing has my colt, doing similar work. Shop is in your neck of the woods and I’ve seen his excellent work firsthand. Recommend, if he’s got time in his schedule.

Not sure if he’s in your radius but Randall @AR15barrels is the man Altho not sure about the refinishing
I don't do checkering or cosmetic cuts or stuff I call "paint and body" work like polishing and bluing.
Will's is within range of him and would be able to do what he is looking for.

My 1911/2011 specialty is fitting/tuning the internal parts such as frame/barrel/bushing/slide and all the fire control parts.
I do glass bead or sand blasting for stainless steel parts and Parkerizing for steel parts.

Dual Hammer Industries is also a good contender if you're willing to drop off on a Tues/Thurs at their City of Industry location. (They alternate days of operation in Inglewood and City of Industry) I've gotten extensiive work done on a few of my 1911s there.

Here's a recent example of their work on my off-roster Springfield EMP4 (Magwell fitting, mill slide for Dawson Precision Plate, barrel crowning, Polished Copper PVD on barrel, front slide serrations, and DLC'ing slide/magwell). They have also given me quotes in the past only to charge less on pickup since they've determined there was less labor/work required to complete a project. To me that's honest business from an honest gunsmith.
