Just a reminder that a simple conversation is an option
My local issuing agency for CCWs recently had an event in town with a lot of officers and higher ups present for convos and meet and greets. It is a smaller agency so they tend to piggy back their policies in regards to CCW issuance and overall rules off other large agencies and the DOJ which is where I found issues as the policy on things like modifications to handguns to be extremely vague and ambiguous. As well the course of fire for the qual is imho sub par and does people new to the concept of CCW a disservice if they take/view the qual as a standard they should strive for or feel comfortable doing.
I went to this event and had some good conversations and was asked if the notes I had written and brought to stay on track conversation wise could be kept by the officer in charge of the CCW permitting process to bring up in his next meeting with other staff in charge of policy changes.
Could this lead to positive change?
-Well I hope so
What about new people who aren’t experienced?
-Get training and compete, it’s not that expensive
Why bother all laws are infringements!!!
-yeah keep commenting that on every 2a video on YouTube I’m sure something will totally change
I’m not posting this as a “look what I did” but more of a reminder that your local agency probably doesn’t get constructive feedback from CCW holders, it’s 30min of your time and a piece of paper
