initially, i submitted my application with a phone bill, but was not accepted as they sent me an email asking for acceptable proof. im planning on submitting my credit card statement and notarized lease, but my lease agreement was just something i had quickly done back in 2023 to purchase a handgun, so everything was just filled out for $1, will they question that, or theres no harm in trying to submit it?

They won't question your notarized lease amount ($1.00); however, it must be notarized. I'd use a car registration or whatever other forms they allow for proof of residency. They usually tell you what documents will suffice, so make sure you submit the right stuff to avoid any delays

it is notarized, i would have used anything else but utility bills, car registration, and other acceptable forms are all in my parent's name so this is all ive got right now.

I don’t think they’ll question the amount, however, the date may be. They need something that shows you’re a current resident since you could’ve moved since then
i see, the form had me mark either month-to-month or until a written end date, and i did mark m-t-m, so hopefully that counts as current

Oddly Sac county doesn't accept leases, but they accepted my phone bill and bank statements

Get your name added to the utility bills. I had a similar problem...wife had DWP, gas, cable in her name and I couldn't prove I lived there!!!! Gas and DWP added my name no problem and the next bill showed both of us
