My interview date was 1/30/25 and they called me on 1/29/25. Applied Dec 2023
 
Applied 5/15/2024.
Initial Interview date - 8/15/2025.
Emailed/Texted about updated interview date - 5/10/25.
New interview date - 6/6/2025.

Interview scheduled for 09/30/2025
Interview rescheduled for 07/11/2025
 
Applied 3/16/24. Scheduled interview myself online during application process. 7/14/25 was the earliest available date.
Got a call in April saying earlier slots were available.

- Contacted by LASD for schedule change, new interview date 10/25
- Already finished CCW training 11/25, just waiting for my CCW license pick-up date

They ask you the same questions you answered on the initial application. It was ridiculously fast for me since I've never had any run-ins with the law or moving violations. You are explicitly instructed to not bring your firearms to the interview, so you should write down all the information you'll need to double check that everything is correct on the application (make, model, caliber, serial number).

It's also supposed to be the last opportunity you have to make any modifications/additions to the firearms you want listed on your license, although I've heard some people have success in making changes during qualifications, so YMMV.

09/02/2026- Application filed online. Initial $50.92 fee paid. Scheduled an in-person interview for 09/22/2026 through permitium
09/10/2026- Received an email from LASD to perform a livescan in the next 14 days or my application will be withdrawn

Seems like they did change.

20 days between application and in-person? That's insanely fast. When I applied in feb of 2023, my in-person was originally July of 2025 but was moved up to April of 2025. I didn't get my permit in hand until Nov of 2025 and I did everything as quickly as possible.

Nice to see they are turning and burning to get them processed now.

09/11/2026- Completed livescan application ($38 roll fee). LASD provides the form for you to print and take. Total livescan cost $134.01. Uploaded completed livescan request form to permitium under "Requested Documentation".
