It can be, under the current provisions of the Penal Code, if it is additionally shown that the weapon was not registered to the offender. The simple combination of CCW and loaded carry, absent any other aggravating factor, is only a misdemeanor.

The sentences given are consistent with the charges being filed as a misdemeanor under Penal Code section 17,

Got a response from an attorney and he wanted serious $$$ and a 30 minute consultation was somewhat reasonable but he told me: new judge (unknown sentencing pattern), new law (sb2) and my issuing agency (LAPD) would be at best, 50/50 to reverse the denial.

He did like my clean record since, NO FELONIES (if I was a felon I wouldn’t be able to BUY FIREARMS ()), the age of the offenses, and I was renewing a CCW, should work to my advantage.

Made a decision to NOT pursue and will withdraw my application as to not risk a rejection in my record with the CCW dept. The juice was not worth the squeeze to me, especially given the cost with 50/50 odds, I’ll wait and keep my eye out on this specific PC rejection, hoping it gets updated.

So as a NON FELON (can’t believe some people don’t read up on the law and assume the worst lol), I’ll continue to buy firearms, use my FFL to buy ammo and keep practicing and exercising my rights while enjoying this hobby

its point less anyways man as long as you can't take the damn gun anywhere due to every place being a protected place. They made most places just vulnerable for shootings since most good people wont be allowed to carry, make it make sense but until every area being deemed a safe space its just not worth having the permit

He helped me after my 2nd denial, but my record is not nearly as bad as the OP.
If none of those are deniable offenses, then he should be good to go.

A little late to the show, but as they say, in America you’re entitled to the best legal defense money can buy. Even with a strong case, a lawyer won’t give you more than a 50% assurance. Personally, I’d pay the lawyer and take it to court.
