Update? How'd it go?

Very quick, in and out of the interview in about 5 minutes. None of my references have been contacted yet and I have not received any update from them but it’s only been about 2 weeks so far.

Same, received confirmation on wait list 8/23, interview was 9/24.. They called my references Oct 15.. Have not heard anything since...

Correct, once they call you to set up interview time they will also send you an email where you will be able to fill out the app with the Permitium software. This way when you go to the interview they will have the application already.

Moved here in Aug. for a three year program. With two year wait times, I’m not even applying.

Only need yourself and your id. Not moving much faster I was told processing time is slightly less than 120 days but they could be playing it safe in terms of timeline not to get people’s hopes up then piss them off. They are also figuring out how to use the new system still so I am sure it will get faster as they go.

Anyone with updates on how long it’s been taking your references to be called after your interview? It’s been over 6 weeks since my interview and still no updates and no references contacted.

One of my friend got permit one day before he received approval letter. He got notification from investigator via email that he was approved for permit.
Shortest time between interview and permit, so far, is mine-54 days. I got my interview on Oct 18th 2023 and permit was issued on Dec 12th.
My recommendation on training will be-be careful if you do prior approval, LAPD is re-shoveling list of providers pretty often and my happen that provider you did prior approval is not on the list anymore and you will waste ur $$. I personally did 10 days prior interview and got lucky. I turned in paper on interview.
BTW, I strongly review possibility to get AZ permit as well. AZ accept our CCW training as is (do not become victim of crooked training providers which will try to sell AZ training cert for additional cost). Process to get AZ is extremely easy and will cost you about $125 total. Everything online and CA training is accepted. I got mine in 21 days, one day before I got LAPD. Good for 38 or even more states.

I got my Arizona in like a week and got my CCW in about 8 months. I live in kern county though

Almost a year since I was added to the list. What month are they calling right now? Anyone get called lately?

No approvals or pick up dates mentioned at all for months. Very strange, considering how many applicants LAPD has.

Just called LAPD and they are still in Sept 2023, I sent in my email in Oct 2023. Seems like they have been on Sept 2023 since August. Not much movement.

Either LAPD has halted any CCW progress or nobody is reporting anything for the past several months, very strange.

On reddit someone posted they got a pick up date for Dec. 17... Their interview was on Aug. 12

Emailed LAPD 12/13/23 to get on waitlist. Received confirmation of waitlist email on 12/14/23 with message it may take 9-12 months. Fingers crossed that they are still on 12 months to schedule interview but not holding my breath.
