The vibe was basically “ummmmm…..I don’t know??” And they took a few copies of records I brought in.

I was told they would either move my application forward, or tell me to withdraw if they thought I would be denied. They sent a message saying they are going to move it forward, called my references, and it sat on pending background for two months before changing to captain review like two days ago I guess.

But I still haven’t been briefed on classes or moving forward in any way.

If it moved on from investigator you sound good to go. My investigator gave me his email address at the end. I never had a need to email him, but if you have his, you can reach out and ask him. There is also a number to call and speak with the CCW unit, but you'll need to call often to get someone. You have the captain and chief of police to go.

getting much better then. Took me a year from Jan 25 to Jan 26

Curious..... Is that because they ( LAPD ) improved process or because most people who wanted ccw already got one? And line became shorter. I am wondering if actual numbers are available on that.

A lot of factors, probably a bit of that but a new gun owner is born everyday.

My guess is improved process. There are too many people in the city, to think in a short time everyone who wanted one would get one.
I humbly think they are realizing the bit of a cash cow the process has become.
Even adding/ changing guns on your license is possible.
