Hard to believe that a high-end, high-dollar manufacturer with folks waiting months for their builds could fold. I mean they had more demand than they could meet, even with months of delay in delivery and premium prices. How do you mess that up??

Hard to believe that a high-end, high-dollar manufacturer with folks waiting months for their builds could fold. I mean they had more demand than they could meet, even with months of delay in delivery and premium prices. How do you mess that up??

Mismanagement, taxes, etc. according to 2A they are still fulfilling orders.

Mismanagement maybe, lose your skilled staff or take your eyes off the bank balance at the wrong time. Taxes (or any other money problem that you could string out over months) shouldn't be an issue; raise the prices, build more product; they had so much pent-up demand that they should have been able to practically print money.

Good news if they are still fulfilling orders. That should mean the staff are still there and there is a chance for someone to swoop in and save the operation.

long story short. company moving, most if not all employees have moved on to someplace else.

Their web site (link above) states they’re moving and relocating to Oklahoma. Orders are on pause and they expect to be up and running in 6-8 weeks.

I think Vudoo as it was before it was sold to private equity (~2024) is dead. Mike Bush has already spun up a new venture to provide spare parts for actions and from what I understand, to develop a new rimfire action.

If you own a Vudoo, you're going to be in a good spot given that Vudoo Gun Works was never actually producing the actions. They were contracted out. So the ability to make parts already sits with other machine shops (including Masterpiece Arms).

A bunch of the people who attend my NRL22 match regularly (and myself included) are going to be getting spare parts from Mike Bush once he's ramped up and keep them on hand.

This is a recent Hornady podcast of an interview with Austin Orgain, a competition shooter who bought and moved a custom barrel manufacturing firm, Custom Rifle Barrels. Interesting to hear what it took to get the business moved and up and running. He was ultimately successful.
