Hunter Constantine Carry Belt: A Honest Review and Amazing Customer Service

I know there's several threads asking about EDC belts and setup recommendations, and I've posted time and time again raving about the Hunter Constantine Carry Belt. I hope this thread helps others in making their purchase decision.

I've worn the HC Carry Belt for 1.5 years now, 3 different CCW configurations (G19, P320, and Hellcat Pro) with and without extra mag caddy(s). Despite the belt being relatively lightweight (mostly elastic); it has never failed to bear the load of my CCW set ups, and a fixed blade knife in a kydex sheath. I can run with this belt + CCW set up, do handyman tasks such as landscaping and move heavy objects, and my pants have never sagged nor have I ever have to worry about it.

Hunter Constantine's claim to fame on this belt is the rigid structure (which is actually a thin metal plate) on the front side of the belt, where your AIWB rig would clipped to. That and the form-fitting, self-adjusting tension (thanks to the elastic structure), as well as the ladder loop positions that make for quick adjustment/on & off. Even if you don't rock appendix, you can turn the belt to the side and it will accommodate IWB at the 3 or 9 o'clock position.

The only downside is that it is a bit pricey ($115) for a belt. If you scour the Reddits/YT; there's promo codes out there. On the flip side, they do offer a 30-day money-back guarantee; if you're not satisfied, you can return it for a refund.

Fast forward to this weekend, I noticed the front metal plate was protruding out of its structure. The ends of the metal was somewhat sharp and even after forcing it back in its elastic shell, it wanted to scoot back out.

I emailed HC directly asking if they had any warranty on the belt. It would have been a bummer for a product to fail with only 1.5 years of daily use.

20 minutes after I hit "sent", I get a call from Hunter himself. We spoke a bit about how he used several factories for the first few hundred batches and one of the factories was not up to par. He has since sold thousands and haven't had an incident in months. He's had a few similar cases, but he immediately confirmed my shipping address, my size, and emailed me back with a tracking number. He promised to send out their new "blackout" belt, which I didn't mind repping the brand. I thanked him for his timely response and his contributions to our community and that was it.

Talk about amazing customer service and a man that stands by his Made in USA product! I can't recommend this belt enough to those who are looking for an EDC carry belt!

Mine is a little big. Bought it for the Golden Bullet. Used his sizing chart too . It works ok with a light gun like a P365, but the elastic gives way with a heavier gun like a CZ P-01 which is my preferred carry. It droops the grip forward printing more than other belts I have. Part of it is that I wear a mag pouch on my belt and carry aiwb. I have to put the stiff part of the belt in the front . If the stiff part is a little to the right, it’s a little more supportive but the pouch ends up on the hook and loop.

Maybe a size down would be tighter but I’m not ready to drop another $115.00 for an adjustment.

I’ve gone back to the Blue Alpha Low Profile belt. It’s easily adjustable, easy to take on and handles both light and heavy guns. The Velcro is finally wearing out, but that’s been 3 or 4 years of abuse . I can put my pouch anywhere on the belt.

I wear my belts on construction sites and shoot them in USPSA occasionally. I had no problem with the Constantine belt shooting the Golden Bullet with a lighter polymer pistol: P365 XL and two mag pouches. It just seemed to print a heavier gun like the P-01 with a 15 rd mag by drooping forward.

Interesting take; I haven't tried with the HC belt with anything metal frame or "heavy", the heaviest set up I've put on is the P320 with extra mag and kydex holster.

I will say, his sizing chart is a bit off and it's probably best to size down. I'm a 33 W, and I got the "small", which states 24 - 32W on his website. I can comfortably rock a compact like a G19 and it still does not constrict me. I'm sure the elastic structure will lose a bit of its function over use. I wonder if the sizing being off has anything to do with the different factories that Hunter utilized for production...

I used to rock a Blue Alpha Hybrid EDC belt, which I believe the structure is similar to the low profile belt (maybe just an additional layer and difference with COBRA buckle); however due to the stiffness, it would reagitate my lower back pain from some injuries nearly 10 years ago. I gave that up and havent had back issues with the HC belt.

This has been my experience too and don’t think mine is too big. I don’t carry tiny guns but with full size guns and an extra mag it wants to lean away from the body. I do use it when I just run out to the store with basketball shorts but that’s about it. Kore belts are still my favorite.

Would it stand up to racking the slide off the belt if needed?

I just verified; it's a bit tough since the metal shim very slim and the elastic/poly shell around it is also slim. With an optic, it can be done though it may be a but awkward racking your slide, with the top of the slide facing you and racking it as if you're trying to wipe something off your belly button to your crotch. On the other sides of the belt, it's a no-go since the elastic will most likely move in the direction of your movement.

It doesn't have the thickness like other belts which make it a bit more difficult.

My county doesn’t allow optics so. On my strong side I have my holster. But for my weak hand drills - if my strong hand were disabled for some reason - I use my belt to rack it at ~10 o’clock.
