How Private are Y'all with your CCW?

First rule of CCW - you do not talk about CCW
Treat it like a circumsition - you don’t share that with people - just don’t
lol why? Gatekeeping CCW is super cringe. You should be encouraging more citizens to do it instead of acting pretentious like you’re too cool.

I get why people keep it a secret in some situations (I have several anti-gun family members or friend-of-friends who I honestly wouldn’t put it past them to put in a fake red flag call out of spite). I don’t randomly tell people but if they’re gun people and the topic comes up I will tell them, or talk about why I chose the guns I like to carry, give them advice, tell them how easy it was to get, etc. I agree we should be encouraging and normalizing it in general, but you do have to be careful around some people.

Funny enough, even though I’m not allowed to carry AT work (big fortune 100 company), in our mandatory workplace violence/safety training it actually specifically mentioned NOT telling HR if you overhear coworkers talking about guns, shooting guns, etc. They have to tell people in CA that it’s legal and normal to be a gun enthusiast or they’ll report you to HR as a threat…

If topic don’t come up - no place to be pretentious - king krow has spoken - the king is here!

When it comes to family, friends, or folks at Church, how do you all decide to disclose that you CCW? If you share the fact with anyone at all?

Personally, it is only immediate family, friends, and anyone who does a PPT with me because I use my permit for both the FSC (firearm safety certificate) and proof of residency.
I tell NOBODY

No one knows who doesn't need to know. It's like having a hard on no need to tell people who don't need to know LOL...

The amount of people that knows of my CCW, is my immediate family. The amount of people that knows whether I’m carrying at any point and time, is none.
In my county there’s a lot of car break ins so leaving anything inside my car is not an option, I don’t care if it’s tied down to the engine. And as the saying goes, “concealed is concealed”.
I rather lose my license than lose my life or the lives of the people I care about.

Christmas Day my drunk BIL cornered in his home me to tell me how much he hates guns and people with guns. I’ve decided that he an his wife should both start seeing other men.

He had no idea I was carrying the entire time LOL
This post couldn’t have been more prophetic if I was Jesus.

Depends on the crowd. Concealed means concealed, and not everyone you are around are gun people. Co-workers, people in your life that 'vote blue no matter who', etc. People also run their mouths, so even if they are cool with it, them running their mouths to the wrong person, at the wrong time is a risk I'd rather not take.

This!!!! this is not gatekeeping! This is for your safety and security and more importantly your security to keep your rights to your 2nd amendment. Last thing you need is for some jack nut to whistleblow you and file a restraining order against you and whatever else the stupid anti gunners of this state can think of!

If your friends and family take a RO out against you, you’ve definitely messed up

I make no secret of the fact that I have permit. Pretty much everyone in my family knows that I do. But I have been considered gun nut for very long time so it is not a surprise.

I don't advertise it either but if asked directly I always answer : Yes I have permit. Yes I carry now. No I will not show you the gun here.
