Hogue FF with kingpin vs hellfighter

Hey everyone, installing the hogue FF on a lower but I usually take my upper and lower apart pretty often. I transport them separately so would like a rear pin that’s easy to remove. Is the hellfighter or kingpin easier to remove?

The hellfighter rear pin is easier to reinstall than the kingpin to either remove or reinstall an upper.
The kingpin requires a tool while the hellfighter does not require a tool.

To remove the upper with a kingpin, you have to remove the kingpin from the receiver.
To reinstall the kingpin, you have to pull back the takedown detent within the receiver while you reinstall the kingpin.

To remove the upper with a hellfighter, you unscrew the button from the takedown pin and remove the spring and then you slide the takedown pin out to the right to free the upper from the lower. The hellfighter pin stays IN the lower as the takedown detent keeps it from pulling all the way out.
To reinstall the hellfighter pin, you put the upper on the lower and push the pin back through the lower and then set the spring on the pin and screw the button back on.

This is… unless you get the KLVR co P.A.L. With the kingpin. Then you don’t need a tool, because the pal system will be your pin retainer vs the stock retainer coming out of the buffer tube / lower.

Also benefit from having 1 continuous motion for reloading.

Thx man I was looking for an option where I didn’t have to take the pin out everytime I disassembled. Hellfighter reliable at all?

I just want to use the hellfighter rear pin just for easy takedown. The main system will be hogue FF. I’ve heard awful things about the full juggernaut system.

The Hellfighter pin works great.
The Hellfighter maglock sucks and everyone thinks you are using the whole system when anyone asks about the hellfighter so that's what the threads they link are about.
As a standalone quick-takedown-pin, the Hellfighter pin is better than the kingpin.

I have the Hellfighter rear pin/Hogue FF solution on three of my guns, only issue I've had has been fixed by Juggernaut. There's a small threaded stud that is now epoxied into the cap on the hellfighter pin. Earlier versions were not thread-locked and the stud could come out of the cap, staying in the pin and preventing the upper from fully separating. Easy fix was to put a dab of thread locker inside the cap and let the stud sit, but the latest pin I bought (within the last three months) had the stud permanently fixed into the cap, so no more issues.
