Funny, I actually have all 3 of these pistols as well but my 229 is the one that made it on my CCW. It shoots and carries so well it replaced my G19.

The P229 is amazingly concealable. Even though it’s larger than my G19 and G23, it’s still far more concealable and more comfortable to carry. Also about a 5X better gun

I agree. I also carry 229 appendix and what I found is that the 229 is slightly thicker than the G19 but that didn't negatively affect the carry experience in any meaningful way.

The big thing for me was, the 229 is actually slightly SHORTER than the 19. When I carried the 19, anytime I bent over or sat down, it jabbed me in the balls and I grew to hate carrying it. Whereas with the 229, it was short enough that I could do a full squat down to the floor and it never jabbed me in the balls. My 19 has since collected dust

It’s also a lot rounder than a glock.. where a glock print’s lines, the 229 prints bulges which just look like a wrinkle

I picked up a CZ P-01 when it was on the roster. It's the largest gun on my CCW, but I love it.

I CCW a P-01. I’ve been shooting it in USPSA lately. I recently sold my first gun , a legacy Sigarms P229 to buy another P-01.
Easy to carry even with limited quality holster options ( Harry’s, JM Custom Kydex).

I bought a few Striker Control Device backplates on eBay before the inventor sold the rights to Langdon Tactical. It allows you to place your thumb on a Glock backplate while holstering . It moves if the trigger moves. Just like a hammer on DA/SA gun.

They are very small, and some are very light (alloy frame and titanium cylinder, with a steel-lined alloy barrel); lighter than most small pistols. Some have exposed hammers, allowing one to shoot single action if one so desires. Their shape means that concealment works somewhat different from pistols (which tend to be flatter, but larger, in general).

As the owner of a 642PC, 442UC, 432UC, Model 36, and a Ruger LCR .357, I completely agree with this.

The Model 36 and LCR .357 are my favorite of my snub guns, as both are a little bit heavier than my other alloy snubs. The extra few ounces of weight makes .38 Special a bit more comfortable to shoot.

Beretta m1934. C&r pistols 50 years and older are obtainable in CA and at a decent price. I really enjoy the Tokarev. Its incredibly thin and powerful. And yes I've carried it extensively round chambered half cocked for all the nannies online.

SIG P229. It's slightly larger than a Glock 19, but not enough to matter if you know how to carry.

Sig also made a 239 which was a 9mm version of the 238. It had a worse reputation for reliability when it came out but no idea if it’s still about and that fixed it. Also, random but my own favorite smith and Wesson made a small 45 single stack carry gun that was the model 457. Sig made a mini sig P220 called the P245. A lot of these guns aren’t available to me because I live in dirty ass California but if you don’t please take advantage

The P239 was also in .40 S&W and .357 Sig. I haven't shot mine (.40) in a few years but it's always been reliable.

I don't blame you for carrying the P229. I purchased it after renewing my CCW, otherwise it would be on there. I will likely add it on my next renewal. Fantastic pistol!

P229 is a great one. A little thick but with the right holster its doable

Size-wise it’s basically a Glock 19 with just a quarter inch longer in the grip area.

If Bonita v Duncan isn’t picked up by the Supreme Court, I’ve been thinking about a P239 in .357 Sig or a G30SF in .45 ACP.
