Question Gunsmith Recommendation for Tikka Barrel Swap San Diego/OC/LA

Looking to have the lite barrel on a Tikka T3x swapped with a heavier profile prefit. I hear it is a pain in the ass as far as removing the factory barrel. Looking for a good smith to do the job. I'm in San Diego but have no issues with going to LA or OC.

Has anyone here had their Tikka barrel swapped and could give me a recommendation?

Try Randall at AR15barrels.com, he is in Sherman Oaks.

I have done lots of Tikka barrel replacements as well as fitted new blanks from scratch.
I fitted a Shilen stainless XX grade blank to a T3x yesterday to replace a factory tikka barrel that grew rust in the chamber.

I am not a fan of pre-fit barrels as they are machined to some spec instead of machined to perfectly fit one specific receiver.
Pre-fit barrels have to be machined loose enough in the threads to be sure they will screw into every receiver because they are intended to be installed by people that could not fix threads that are too tight to fit together.
A hand-fitted barrel can have the threads cut larger so the barrel fits a specific receiver as tight as possible.
There are notable gains in accuracy from a tight fit between the receiver and the barrel.
For what you pay for a pre-fit barrel vs starting with a blank and having the blank hand fitted to your specific receiver, it's only a little more money to do it the better way and end up with a better final result.
