Bit of a background my friend owned this rifle for at least 20years and I was the one who sighted it in when he bought it new very happy that he agreed to sell it to me. now my question will I have a problem with california compliant laws rifle is l96a1 non folder called Riflegear and they said they can accept it any thoughts before I start rhe process of getting an ffl in his state to send it to an ffl here

First: confirm it is not listed by name in the original AWB. If not listed, then you have 2 options and all must be done before he ships it to your FFL:

1. Install a maglock or other fixed magazine solution (compmag).
2. Convert to featureless by installing a fin grip, replace the birdcage with a comp or thread protector.

As long as its not a listed by name sb23 rifle and its been neutered before being shipped to ffl in ca.

I moved out of ca but had an armalite that was listed in sb23 so i had to register it then,But whats stupid is i could put that armalite upper on one of my aero lowers then i can sell to someone in ca by just taking the flash hider off and add a fin grip or just mag lock it.Somehow the armalite lower is more dangerous LOL wonder what they would think of my colt sporter 2.

AW laws dont apply to bolt action unless its a 50 cal.

I think what he said was that his friend was selling him the rifle for $100.
