First time CCW holder looking for a belt, any recommendations?

Hunter Constantine or the Teir 1s belt. They have a ridged front and elastic in the back, allows the gun to move with your body. Also can be worn under shorts or pants without belt loops and work perfectly.

Getting my permit soon and I am having a hard time choosing a ccw belt, planning to carry my p365 IWB. So many on the market that it is very confusing... Too stiff, not stiff enough, etc.... I never usually wear belts so this will be a whole new experience for me.

Any suggestions?

On a budget as well, don't care to break the bank.

I went with a Hank's belt, with sale and coupon it came out to about 55 plus tax. Very happy so far, warranty is tough to beat. They unfortunately raised their prices about 15% just before the holidays, and the current promo is oniy 20% off. So I'd wait for a better promo if you can.

Yea I really like Nextbelt having started with kore for ratchets. It holds up better in the edc and dressy carry belt settting for me

i have the hanks gunner belt. they are sturdy but they soften up a bit. i been using the hanks belt for many years


the nextbelt i was kinda skeptical too. my buddy bought one for me as a gift. it can use the belt while wearing shorts. nextbelt gets my vote now

I’ve used kore belts for years. The nylon ones though, the dress looking ones wear out way way faster than they do.

Yeh, I use the leather for carry and the leather and stitching wears mainly from the rubbing of the plastic fomi clip with grip tape inside or discreet carry concept metal clips. The belt saver sleeve helps but makes it thicker for plastic fomi clip; so that works better for D.C.C. Clips. The nylon I use for steel practice and challenge. The nylon actually has a higher weight rating of 10lbs compared to the leather if 4-6 lbs.

Hunter Constantine or the Tier 1 version of it - which is identical to Hunter Constantine and based off it. I own 4 other purpose EDC belts and I rarely use the other ones except if I want to look more dressed up (for dressier belts I recommend Magpul's Tejas polymer-reinforced belts)

I've tried many. In my opinion, you will either like a Kore Essentials belt or a Hunter Constantine.

Kore offers immediate adjustability with the buckle switch. So when you sit you can loosen it, stand, tighten, etc etc. It also comes off like a normal belt for bathroom breaks. I have the 1.25" for EDC, the 1.5" for a range belt, and two 1.25" brown and black leather for dress.

Hunter is half elastic, with a solid front frame. They come with 2 loops (or 3 on the Tier1 Concealed version) so you can set the initial loop to light pressure and go from there. Or just figure out what works for you and set it at the first loop, that's what I do I don't really dink with the loops much. The hunter however, you cannot easily take off when you stand to pee. You'd have to unclip the holster, rotate the hard front face to the right to get to the buckle. So what I do is just unzip, reach down in and pull it out from the side of my boxers. You'll find your own method, but want to point this out. I wear the hunter daily, it's just what I like the most.

I'd say buy both. You can't go wrong. The great thing is both can be worn under shorts. I have a Phlster holster and while it's awesome it's got its quirks and it's a full commit holster. Once it's on you, it's on there until end of day. Buy both belts, and save yourself hundreds by not needing all the other belts on the market. Another pro for Kore is if you want a dressy belt you can just order the belt itself, and save some money by using the same buckle on your original Kore.

I ordered mine 14+ years ago and it’s literally still almost like new, despite being worn 5+ days per week for most of those years, and well over 10+ hours for most days. Also despite carrying a lot of gear.

Even the freakin’ VELCRO still works PERFECTLY WELL…after **14 years**!!!!!

NOBODY’S Velcro lasts that long…. And this gets done & undone multiple times per day (bathroom breaks, dress & undress, etc - you can imagine)
I’m truly awestruck. FOURTEEN YEARS?!?!?!

Wilderness also offers a Velcro repair / replace option for a very reasonable cost - but again; after 14 years, I’m positively stunned I haven’t needed it. The Velcro is at an honest 90%+ capacity / capability from new.

I got the 1.75” with added stiffener.
Literally can't say enough good about it.
Plus its very comforting to know that it's a legit load bearing piece of life-saving gear, and I've never had a problem taking it on a plane.

Milt Sparks.

I’ll also add that I bought myself a beautiful Milt Sparks belt quite a ways back - prob years even before my Wilderness belt, which I bought 14 years ago (checked because I was truly curious).

So the Milt Sparks pure leather belt is easily closer to 20+ years old. Hasn’t seen quite as much use as my Wilderness, but I have not been easy on it. Frankly, the whole reason I got the Wilderness is I sweat so much during the summer, I didnt want to ruin the Milt Sparks.
It’s definitely kind of a “fancy / dress-up” belt for me - business casual, of course, but it can work with a suit.

I just checked it & it is still in perfect condition. I mean; definitely shows signs of wear, but nothing unusual. The leather is still soft, pliable, no major cracks nor other sign of plain old age that most lesser leathers would absolutely display by now.

Milt Sparks is beautiful & functional too, handcrafted in Idaho.

I run a Hunter Constantine belt right now and I have no complaints. I stumbled across this brand and I think they are fairly new. Im looking to find something that works well with athletic shorts or joggers with no belt loops. I havent found too many reviews though.
