Finally Got Pulled Over with a Gun

he ticketed a on duty LEO?
I’m a PI not a cop but yeah moto traffic cops are 🍆s they don’t care about anything but giving tickets out
Oh. I was ticketed out here while in full uniform with my duty belt and armor on the back seat.

Traffic cop: where you going
Me: work.
Traffic cop: what's all that stuff for?
Me:work
Traffic cop: what do you do for work?
Me: federal law enforcement, I work for *******
Traffic cop: do you have a gun?
Me: yes
Traffic cop: ok, we'll here's your ticket

I spent $500 on a really good radar detector the next day. No more surprises.

motorcycle cops have radar on their front fairings now so have fun fighting it, assuming elk grove has bmw bikes
Not all. Just from casual observation, the vast majority of CHP bikes I see have taken the radar (2 antennas, controls and the display, don't know about the counting unit) off the bike . Typically, city LEO's all have Lidar and some have mounted radar as well.

That’s funny. Yeah this guy is THE traffic cop for Elk Grove PD. As my local officer friend said “he’s the most liked guy on the force” 😂😂😂

Pretty sure he gets overtime for court days too.

It is what it is. Hopefully I can win it, but worst case I’ll bill the cost to the client and it’s a wash. They can pay.
Now retired, a buddy of mine was a motor cop at Elk Grove- was with CHP prior- when they first opened the unit 2 decades ago. He was involved in two shootings while on the bike. My favorite line of his, but he'd not say it to his customer- (similar to anyway), "If folks don't know why I pulled them over, then they deserve the ticket even more because they simply aren't being aware. When we part ways, they know for sure." Funny, but "Ouch".

Any ticket is easy to fight if you know what you're doing.
That is nice in theory, but not always true in practice. Consider the case where an officer committed proven perjury (his statements clearly conflicted with dashcam video), when it was stated to the "judge", the "judge" said "he hasn't been charged with perjury". The officer committed perjury numerous times, but the court is just as corrupt and no one will do anything about it.

It is cheap insurance, you should have it in every vehicle. It is for accidents, tickets, as well as recording something that you might see even if there was no accident.
Keep in mind it is going to record all your actions before, during and after. So don't be handing video over until you've reviewed everything it has recorded. Twice. Have a friend review it too.

Sometimes the courts side with the cops even with an affirmative case. I mean, look at the judges who keep releasing repeat offenders who go on to murder innocents such a Iryna Zarutska. Some judges are stupid, woke, racist, activists, and have an axe to grind. Doing everything right doesn't guarantee victory, but that shouldn't need to be explained.

Of course the county or state wants your money, but that can be used to one's advantage. Not getting a point on your record is still a win.

My point is that the process is not difficult once you know what you're doing. There's only so much traffic law and procedure to memorize.

Yes, but my point is that when the court is corrupt and refuse to follow the law, there is no winning.

It’s interesting how in other states they seem more interested in my California plates than the weapons I had with me. Happened twice to me in Utah. 5 miles over the speed limit on both coming from the range. The second one I got lit up in a 35 going 30 right before a 25 mph zone. He pulled me over in the 25 of course.

Fair, but I'm talking about the procedure involved with fighting a ticket. What the court does is what the court does, whether you know what you're doing or not. Also, even if you lose a TBD (Trial by Written Declaration), you'll get a new judge with a Trial De Novo (new trial). And, you only need to be right once with an affirmative defense.

So in reality, there are two chances to win with two unique judges for civilians who know the process. There's no advantage to knowing *less*.

You can fight tickets in other states, but out-of-state drivers are easy pickings because they're unlikely to come all the way out to traffic court in another state, assuming they don't already live there. Plus, there's the usual anti-CA bias.

This plus out of state drivers are often involved in drug smuggling and human trafficking so they are going to pay attention to out of state cars and fish

You can also appeal, which gets another judge, but again, with a corrupt system it doesn't matter.

I talked to a guy who got a red light ticket. The photo showed him driving through a green light. He was found guilty. What he did was to make an illegal lane change from the left turn lane into the straight lane and then go through the intersection.

The point you're making has nothing to do with the process of fighting tickets. You're simply arguing from apathetic fatalism, but that doesn't change the process of fighting tickets.

I'm guessing you've never fought a ticket in your life? Maybe you have and lost? Your arguments strike me as manifest fear, lacking the confidence that comes from knowledge and experience.

It reminds me of the fear that some people have around guns for the same reasons...fear untempered by knowledge and experience.

I am not a lawyer, but lawyers don't talk like you. The good ones know they won't win every case and that sometimes one draws an activist judge or a lying witness, but good lawyers are confident. They fight to win and they mostly win. That's why they make the big bucks. That's where they get their confidence (and their rates) based on a track record of proven success.

I am not a lawyer and I've mostly won my cases, which is why my attitude is very different from yours.

Now imagine if I did this full time...

Nice made up garbage in order to attack. It is nice that you have won your cases, but that isn't always the case.

You are guessing wrong. I was falsely charged and the the officer committed PROVEN perjury numerous times and the corrupt judge responded that he hadn't been charged with perjury. The dashcam video conflicted with his claims. Reality didn't matter. Another case the officer was also proven to lie multiple times, the corrupt judge didn't care. He couldn't have been where he claimed to be (which was false) and see what he claimed to be able to see. His testimony conflicted with his own bodycam video and he admitted what he said was false, yet the corrupt judge said guilty.

I have knowledge and experience, so your statements are just spewing garbage and false claims because it doesn't match with your limited view of reality and you are unable to accept that others have a different experience.

It doesn't matter if the judge is corrupt what the evidence proves as they ignore it.

You might open your eyes and your mind and realize that you have a very limited experience and that attacking people and spewing false claims only serves to make you look bad, very bad.
