If I wanted to get a CA Compliant P229 and either got an optics ready OEM slide replacement or got it milled would that impact the eligibility for concealed carry in SF county? TIA.
 
What does their policy say?
 
San Francisco county does not have crazy restrictions like neighboring cities/counties.

For SFPD; this is what they state:
  • Licensees are only allowed 3 weapons on the CCW license, and they must be listed accurately on the application.
  • Handguns, magazines, and ammunition must comply with all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Registered assault weapons as defined in the California Penal Code Sections 30510 and 30515 are not permitted and will not be allowed on your CCW license.
  • Any handgun or pistol that has a capacity to accept a magazine outside of the pistol grip is not permitted to be placed on your CCW license.
  • Any modifications to any of your handguns you wish to be on your CCW license MUST be California-compliant.
Both of my handguns (SFPD-issued CCW) are milled off of the OEM slide for optic and it was not an issue.

This doesn’t say anything about the eligibility of off roster firearms, do you have any experience with getting those added to your concealed carry list?

Off roster is fine; so long as it is Cali-compliant and is registered to you.

I had an off-roster on my initial CCW two years ago - they didn't even bat an eye or asked how I acquired it.
