Law Drones - Feds say they're 'aircraft'

You have a right to privacy in your home and someone using a drone or a zoom lens camera can be help criminally liable for taking photos/video inside..... having said that... Ill play devils advocate. You see a drone flying outside your daughters window and decide to shoot it. Police show up and its my drone and I can show I was using it to take wide photos of your neighbors house for a real estate agents listing. Its going to go very bad for you.

200-300 feet? Now you are looking crazy. Like a helicopter at 500 feet hovering so you think they are watching tan naked in your backyard and you think you can shoot at it?

1. I live on 10 acres, so your drone WILL get shot down if you're hovering it over my property, just outside my daughter's bedroom window. Come and find out for yourself. DGAFF about your intentions, or that "real estate" pretense you're claiming for your perversions.

2. I have no idea what you're even trying to say in last paragraph. You might try a remedial English class. Or take up English as a 2nd language maybe.

Shouldn't have to care about shades, on my 10 acres, atop a huge hill. That's why me and my neighbors all moved out here. To get away from all the creeps and perverts and people with no respect for others and their property.

Like I said, any of you drone fliers are welcome to come and... find out.

If he’s taking video or photos (which not all drones do) then he’s breaking the law. Photography is legal *almost* anywhere, and people *usually* don’t have the right to not be photographed. The exception is that in places where you have a reasonably expectation of privacy, like bedrooms, bathrooms, and the like, then photographers do not have the right to photograph you.

However, you do not have the right to shoot at an aircraft, even if the drone operator is violating your privacy, or your daughter’s privacy.

well, do be mindful of the law. You may be charged if you shoot at an aircraft, and the drone operator may be charged if he violated your daughter’s privacy.

I literally quoted it in your reply.

and again....doesnt matter if you live on 5000 acres.... you own the land .... not the air. I can fly over your property for 100s of reasons for work as must as i want and even recreationally if I choose to. If you shoot down my drone you will be charged with shooting down a registered FAA aircraft. It no different then you shooting at a passenger plane. Please use your brain.
 
I do real estate photography/videography and it always amazes me that some people when they see a drone automatically think it’s looking at them. First, I could give a rats ass who you are and unless you’re paying me, I’m not videoing or photographing you.

Then they assume that if you’re over their property you must be looking at them. I always ask them, when you take a picture of something, say a person, do you stand on top of them to take the picture, NO! You have to back away to get them in frame, so I can’t take a picture of your neighbors house unless I’m backed off the property. Plus, if I’m over your house, I can guarantee I can’t see inside of it.

Ok vent over, I just come across so many stupid people. Also, if they pull out a gun and try to shoot it, if they show me theirs, I’m sure as hell showing mine.

You’re paranoid, before you do something that will land you in jail with federal charges and a civil lawsuit, maybe since it’s not threatening anyone’s life, just maybe, step outside and see if you see the drone pilot and just ask what they are up too, ask if they’d be willing to show you the photos to verify. You bust out a gun, you better hope the pilot isn’t carrying, I always do, because the only one that’s going to fill threatened is the drone pilot because some crazy person came outside and started shooting.
