Domestic American economy about to get crushed?

I would personally rather carry a mesh network device with an NFC enabled wallet and trade tokens validated to represent a gold holding and tap to pay than carry ounces of gold around personally.

No internet required, trustless transactions, known values, seems inevitable to me even if the majority of people will take some time to wrap their heads around why everything I've described is true.
This is the future but we have to find the right counterparty to digitize the gold. This is actually something I would want to get into as trust is super important.

There’s been so many who do this but either overcharge for the gold or didn’t have the reserves to back it up

It’s not so much about a physical apocalypse as much as it’s a financial one.

These are stores of value. Prices keep moving up for goods but certain assets track with money supply. When the printers are turned on there’s just more money in circulation. People raise prices as value decreases.

1 oz of gold bought you a nice suit back in the days and 1 oz can do more than that now. So if you have a savings having it stored in 1 oz at $1800 back then is better than the bank. You could have it in equities too that’s fine to grow.

The main point is to put your $$ in things that will hold its value. Equities by that are profitable or assets that are generating income or assets that keep the value you paid for it.

There’s a lot of good growth stocks now. But man it’s a bit crazy.

Well, also the growth in stocks could simply vanish overnight

And people are already making millions on crypto. More money was spent by crypto groups than any other sector except for oil in the 2024 elections. We all know how this goes - none of us can even vote on what tax laws for crypto are going to be, they're already buying all the politicians. https://www.citizen.org/article/big-crypto-big-spending-2024/
Plus you have POTUS’s family owning majority stakes in several crypto companies as regulation and legislation is pending on them after an adversarial administration.

The Biden admin thought people weren’t ready for it because too many people got scammed and lost money so they blocked it in every way they could. The current one is all about deregulation and opening up 401k’s AND government institutions to digital assets.

The marketcap will explode upwards IMO, it’s just a matter of time once Congress gets back to work and passes these crypto bills to make it easier for money to get funneled in.

They wouldn’t vanish but yeah they could crash for sure. Stop losses need to be there but not yet. I do plan on trimming as there’s no way this is sustainable but I think it’ll last this term. I think POTU$ will use every tool available to keep the markets pumped until his term is over

I think the goal is to make it to midterms after that it's an extraction frenzy

I diverge on the "deregulation" sentiment here. I think one thing a lot of crypto people are getting wrong is that this is about freeing up the market. Imo the deregulation is very much being designed to create escape routes from USD for accredited investors, and NOT to enable free cross border private transactions.

We have payment channels and mixers and all sorts of FREE anonymous transaction capabilities that are being snuffed out of existence.

You've got the SEC making openly adapted statements like " Self custody of bitcoin is a major risk of terrorism". Combine that with the department of homeland security saying Antifa is an organization as dangerous as any terrorist organization in existence and well, I've got news for ya where this is all going and it's not a "free market of crypto web3 sovereignty".

Free for mee NOT FOR THEE

I get it.. You're right, for the crypto purist, there is more regulation being added. The deregulation I mention is undoing the things the Biden admin did for crypto. They would barely let anyone do business with crypto companies. Now they're creating the regulatory framework to include crypto into the mainstream.

The risk is ultimately one of game theory and is a concern. If you can do self custody without seeing where the cash came from, it is a security risk. How would we know if some foreign organization bought billions of Trump coins with laundered monies to pump it up so they could switch it to BTC ? For sovereign nations, you would want to know if North Korea is using stolen funds right?

This has always been an issue.

I've seen vending machines that sell gold in a sheet of 1 gram "stamps". Snap one off and pay for whatever.

A bar of silver, a sharp knife and a gram scale could also be a form of currency if fiat currencies collapse. Bitcoin and similar won't be worth anything either if the fiat currencies they use to set value collapse.

RWAs have the ability to tun tradeable crypto into redeemable gold so they're effectively interoperable even in pretty extreme SHF situations atleast for people in the know or at the level where their access to these systems persists beyond shaky local internet access.

That's a law enforcement's problem to figure out not mine problem ;)

Not to defend absolutely none sustainable path US is on but I would not be on China.
At this point it is personalized autocracy. And they always end up in the same way.

Call me crazy... but institutional investors got smoked in April, and individual investors came out on top by buying the dip. Institutional investors are still under-allocated from April, so they're looking for opportunities to buy. And there's so much pessimism in the market that the market may continue to climb the 'wall of worry', because pessimism is already priced in. There could still be a pullback, but (if you're not already fully allocated) the question is how far you think it'll go.

However far POTUS can go.. I'm not sure if his comments today were because of the China memo or if its because he didn't get the Nobel Peace Prize..

Ultimately, the volatility is what creates opportunities. It's important to keep dry power available but oof.. If POTUS met with China and Democrats and actually negotiated, markets would boom if there was a positive outcome. THe problem is the sentiment is so negative because of the hardball tactics and this point everyone is growing a pair and no one is willing to move.

We need real leadership. If we can get it, we all prosper vs the few he's working for. I keep hoping he'll turn a corner and have some humility but not sure if that's realistic.

Sir - the politics section is closed through December. 😅

This is a trader's mindset. I'm not saying DCA 'n pray is the way to go right now, but timing the market is going to be nigh on impossible if you believe POTUS is able to move the market. That said...
🌮 ?

Trump v. V.O.S. Selections arguments begin 11/5

This is about moving markets not about politics in general. The trade issue is what tanked the market... There's no need to say if dem this or blame liberals. I'm not saying its good or bad, just that the market reacted and we're in some deep 💩. Gov is shut down there's a lot of things that directly move the market.

When major macro events happen, its not a traders mindset as much as opportunist. This is the way where people who are prepared can make jumps with wealth. As we mentioned, hard assets are doing well. Digital assets not so much, but it is an opportunity for DCA for the longer term if you believe in the tech. Payout there won't be for awhile or unless we get the word from POTUS to buy again.

Just gotta wait for those signals right?
