I can't imagine China wants a kinetic war with the US though. Even if China starts increasing its revenue from other countries (we are its primary customer at present), they have nothing to gain trying to take territory by force. They have access to lots of resources around the world, and our military (and armed citizens) would just cost them a lot of money and human life.
They've won the battle of manufacturing, investment (clean energy, Africa), and tech.
Conventional warfare isn't necessarily something I expect them to pursue but I think that by demonstrating we've got no more than 3 weeks of it in us before we effectively can't stand up a persistent defense without mutually assured destruction I don't think they need to even spend the time or money.
They waved the flag around that they've called our bluff, and now they're reaping the trade deals and dancing around our demands economically basically telling us to Tariff and damage our partners all we want they simply don't care what we do we can't really threaten them militarily.
I'm sure you've heard the phrase "The USD is backed by the full force of the United States Military"... well if the United States military is basically being regarded as a paper tiger in practical terms the USD is backed by hopes and dreams.
An amazing military you can't pay isn't the amazing military you believe it to be.
