$DJT poised to break out?

Crypto is a smokescreen. Pure gamblling, much more than various types of stocks/financial instruments simple because it's 100% vapor. The djt stock is a gutterball when you look at the business...it's losing money and has no current plan in place to make money...but they are throwing all sorts of stuff at it. Much of it scammy. Maybe if they added the gold sneaker portfolio or signed bibles it would make a profit.
Plenty of scamming to be challenged in crypto but calling it Vapor is painfully short on technical analysis we're presently in the midst of tokenizing almost all global trade using derivatives of blockchains and digital ledger technologies. That's not smoke and mirrors it's already well under way.

Good morning, My understanding is that this site was going to be Apolitical. What I just skimmed over in this thread is anything but Apolitical.

The "price" of BTC could be $5k or $150k, based on hype, buy/sell, FOMO, not real metrics like contract awards, innovation, assets, market share, etc.
No one knows. There is no basis of value at this time. It could completely disappear from the face of earth and nothing would happen.

Please use the report button for the posts you think are political vs impactful of the stock.

Usually we don’t like people internet fighting politics vs being apolitical.

I'm not a Bitcoin maxi or anything, but the price of bitcoin is technically calculable based on a broad swathe of parameters. It's value is largely observed by the people who buy it within it's cryptographic security and the dependency of it's decentralized calculation for exchange.

Bitcoin is not Crypto though BTC people go to great lengths to divisively make this point.

Crypto is broadly speaking the tokenization of various assets(some pinned to currencies) that are largely immutable in various forms, and distributed decentralized user participated networks. The entire financial western world and middle east are all switching to these digital systems for the basis of nearly all trade presently. Calling this smoke and mirrors seems a bit silly. You're probably within a year of almost all stocks being tokenized assets and 2 yrs from all credit card transactions running on stable coin rails. It's worth being nuanced on these types of subjects.

It brings humor to watch it go down though.

As I said in my comment you reference…at this time there isn’t much basis for value. It’s mostly vapor. The future is unwritten and many possibilities can become more or less dominant. Crypto is occurring as a new vehicle of wealth for the select few. The rest of the hers puts money in to feed the beast like anything else. The difference here is there is zero tangible value.

Try securing routine purchase orders via swift from Nigeria for 7 figures or more once or twice and get back to me on whether or not crypto has any value.

Note: swift transfer will take weeks while several different government parties Change custody and evaluate whether or not the funds are “safe” while skimming interest off it, and the crypto transfers will literally take seconds and cost you next to nothing.

Now go look at smart contract obligated conditions for payments or loans that are fully collateralized or fractionalized and compare that to historical methods like 140 page documents you have to mail all over the world to get 15 different parties to hand sign in front of notaries and sign offs from trade organizations like Cargill with insurance and risk assurance packages that are now completely automated and tell me there’s no value.

There may be no value to YOU but your credit card company implementing the payment rails you’ll never even know exist sure seems to have found some value.

Digital assets that are immutable and fault tolerant are incredibly valuable and an entire new mode of trade finance. Plenty of people don’t see the value in this, but frankly they don’t need to the whole world will be running on it soon enough regardless. Most people don’t care how combined cycle power plants and turbines work but they sure enjoy the benefits of those things existing routinely.

Transferring money via crypto is pretty much what pushed companies like Venmo and Cashapp into existence. While crypto has been essential and very helpful to people moving smaller amounts around the world, it was helpful in 1st world countries as well. Remember Western Union or wire transfers? Banks were so behind the times until crypto showed that you could securely move huge amounts of money in minutes.

First off: I am no crypto expert! But I am trying to learn more about it...

Your 2nd sentence describes a couple of the architectural characteristics of BC, seems to me. But it does not actually describe what makes the ultimate value of BC "technically calculable".

From what I can tell, the only thing that determines the current value of BC is supply vs. demand. There is only so much of it available at any given time. When more people want to buy it than sell it, the price goes up. When more people want to sell, the price goes down. Would you agree this is true for Bitcoin?

However! Current value is not the same thing as inherent value. And the inherent value of Bitcoin is NOT "technically calculable" (your words). The only inherent value it has is the FAITH that people have in it. The FAITH that it will continue to exist. And the FAITH that other people will continue to have FAITH in it. In this respect, it's not much different than the fiat U.S. dollar, or petro-dollar.

That faith you have for BC is no different than the faith that Christians have in God, Muslims have in Allah, MAGA-hats have in Trump, etc.

What if China or N. Korea were to hit the U.S. with an EMP and destroy all our electronics and infrastructure tomorrow, no more Internet for the next 50 years, all computers fried, and we were thrust back into an 1800's lifestyle... What about World War III, and all of that happens on a global scale?

Would you still have your Bitcoin? Where would it be? What could you do with it? What would it be worth then?

These are the problems I have with Bitcoin. It has very little or no inherent value, just like the cash in my pocket.

Guns, ammo, PMs, a home out of the city with enough land to feed your family, and hopefully some skills that will always be useful to others... These are things with inherent value that I would invest in first, before I put my money into something like Bitcoin.

Sorry for the ramble. As Charlie Kirk used to say: "Convince me otherwise." Thanks!

No worries at all.

If the United states was nuked and didn't exist tomorrow neither would I, but my keys and the bitcoin ledger would definitely still exist and whatever was in my wallet would be recovered as soon as quantum key cracking is invented :D

Unlike gods, Bitcoin exists.

Unlike gods, Bitcoin exists.
And unlike Gods, Bitcoin is down 15.2% over the past year... My God is omnipotent. So He's always up, never down. :)

In addition, my silver is up. My S&P-indexed 401K is way up. My market-indexed annuities are way up also. And my properties are up!

Life eventually turns into pure financial awesomeness if you have patience, live well below your means, save 20% of each paycheck and put that money wisely into historically proven, time-tested investments.

Ready to cruise on into my retirement years!
