Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough on Friday ruled against a section of the bill that removes regulations pertaining to gun silencers and easily concealable firearms under the National Firearms Act.

She said the provision, which would have eliminated enhanced background checks for individuals who purchase suppressors, violated the Byrd Rule, which governs what legislation is eligible to pass the Senate with a simple-majority vote.
 
Trump's ATF declined to go for a stay, good for the rest of the country, and in time "In common use" will mean more than it did yesterday.

 
If "In Common Use" as an argument has legs when it comes to the current cases regarding AR-15s, then in the future a suppressor case can look at all the citizens out there post August 12 and say suppressors are "in common use" and thus deserves protection under 2A.

If you read the 8/5 decision, the court stayed the decision for 7 days so that the BATF could file an appeal.
No appeal was filed within the 7 days that was granted so the decision went into effect a few hours ago.
 
This is a good start. Now the courts need to strike down every single pillar of California’s shockingly unconstitutional firearms regulations. And I want the court to force the state to delete the registry. The state has no right to keep a record of what firearms I own.

  1. Trump (or any future president or candidate) could solve world peace or fusion energy and would get no credit from me until the Epstein files are released and his network is exposed
  2. Trump, the Republican controlled congress and SCOTUS are doing such a terrible job that the power will swing dramatically in the other direction. Not only will the anti-2A people rollback any gains, they'll triple down on restrictive laws.
If you want to keep fishing for Trump accolades and gotcha's I have plenty TDS in the tank. Or we can take the win and leave all the political party BS out of it - because none of them actually care about this beyond partisan politics.
