Competitions in/around Sacramento?

100% wrong
Are you a voting or non voting member?

@Deleted member 16735 is correct.

Directly from the public website: (Source)

VotingMembers receive reduced range fees according to the fee schedule and a 15% discount onmerchandise purchases. Voting Members may reduce their annual dues by completing a RangeImprovement Project. A Range Improvement Project requires 10 hours work per year, except thatprojects by Voting Members who are age 60 or more require 5 hours of work per year. Annual VotingMember Dues are $175.00 for persons not yet 60 years of age, and $125.00 for persons of at least60 years of age. A Fee Schedule is provided below.[Refer to Bylaws Article 4]

and...

Non-Voting Members may have access to private ranges 2, 5 through 12, as aguest of a Voting Member or as part of a club match or other event open to the public. Non-VotingMembers receive reduced range fees according to the Fee Schedule and a 10% discount onmerchandise purchases. Annual Non-Voting Member Dues are $150.00 for persons not yet 60 yearsof age, and $100.00 for persons of at least 60 years of age. A Fee Schedule is provided below.[Refer to Bylaws Sections 4.1.2 and 4.3.2]

And as a voting member, you don't have open/reservation access to the 1,000 yard range. (12) And yes, I know it says you can access range 12 in the PDF. On the website is states "Range 12 is one of the few 1000 yard ranges in California. It may be reserved only by clubs and vendors." So you can use it only through a club or vendor.

How are Lincoln USPSA matches? I've been wanting to check them out one of these days cause they are so close to me.

Regarding the 1,000 yard range (Range 12) at Sac Valley. Always check the range website calendar

It is usually booked reserved for various clubs, law enforcement training, special events, etc.

well that's weird cause I've shot quite a bit on that range as a non voting member so
which one? the 1000 yard? They are honestly pretty lax about letting people shoot the 600 yard range as long as there's other people there but the 1000 you need to reserve and close it down which you can't do as a non voting member. I've just gone to the Saturday practices there.

I've heard they are decent but they do fill up really quick so I've never been to one

Been cruising around on Practiscore, followed the local clubs that put on matches. Reached out to get in the next Competition Shooting Safety Class in my area. Waiting on info from the lead instructor, already registered for an upcoming match, but may be a bit premature there since I don't know what the schedule for the Safety Class looks like.

Appreciate the ongoing info coming in everyone it's been incredibly helpful!

I'll be doing my second comp on the 28th at EDGC. Good people, fun time.

Come out this Sunday and watch our match at Concord. See how it works before you have your safety class finished.

welcome to the new addiction

Are you? I'm shooting that day... Maybe I'll hang out for when your class comes out to the range after we shoot.
That's how I've met people to shoot with on stuff like the 1,000 and steel at svsc. Networking is one of the best perks of being a member places imho.

Just curious if there are any competitions in/around Sacramento. Looks like a lot of fun.

Looked around a little bit and it looks like Lincoln Rifle Range and Sac Valley may be the only places around this area?

I'm in Northern Sac almost to Roseville, so if Lincoln has some competitions that would likely be the closest.

I looked on Practicescore and it seems a bit difficult to find clubs and I looked at all the threads in this forum section, but it doesn't seem there are any that are geared towards Sacramento/surrounding.

TIA!
Keywords and acronyms for the sac-ish area clubs:

Linden: LCSC
El Dorado: EDPS and EDGC
Sac Valley: SOAP, CAPSL, AND NCPS - SDPS for IDPA
Oakdale: Hosemonster
Concord: DAP
Richmond: Richmond
Gridley: NVSA
Lincoln: LRC

Search a keyword, then filter down to state, then USPSA, IDPA, Steel, etc. Then you will have an easier list to sort through.

practiscore has such a 💩ty organizational system that you literally need a list like this to find the matches

Yup, I had zero clue about matches at Yolo Sportsmen's even though that's where the training class is. If you search for matches there it's essentially impossible. You have to find it searching by name.
