Feedback CCW suggestions

Currently EDC .40 and recently purchased a P365X Macro which will go on my CCW. San Diego has unlimited of what you can put on your CCW
But up to 4 on a sheet and the range charges $25 per sheet for qual so Im just looking to add on 4 more at the moment.

Next guns will be:
P365 X-macro comp
my G19
P230

this is where my questions is. I have a S&W 686 or was thinking purchasing a M18 and add it to the collection maybe a legion? ( do have a W. German P226 but don't see me EDC that at all)

If I can find something it will most likely be off-roster as I have never carried a handgun with an external thumb safety and not looking to start.

Like your thoughts on carrying the 686 or wait till I find a M18?

$25 per sheet? thats rough. got to assume thats that range’s own policy. my instructor doesn’t nickel and dime u if u go through the process with them.

what do you mean that's rough? How else you supposed to qualify to get a gun on your CCW? SDSO doesn't do gun quals anymore.

find a different instructor/range? that $25/page sounds like their policy.

Find someone else for what. In San Diego you have to go to a range to be able to add guns to your CCW. Why would anyone do it at no charge. I really have no idea why you're even mentioning the $25. Where are you located and how do you add on guns to a ccw?

If your 686 is this variant then definitely put it on your ccw.

All joking aside, I’m not sure what your situation is as far as renewal or modification are but both of those processes take a long time. So I’d roll with what you have at the moment when you need to submit for them. Wanting to add a gun you don’t own yet that causes a period of time with no valid permit, I would choose to just add the 686. You still never know when you’ll find the M18 or other off roster gun. It will be faster if budget isn’t an issue and you pay whatever asking price.

If you have my luck though, you’ll find it right after you submit lol. You’ll have to green frame that as you found what you wanted at a good price because you submitted already.

San Diego you can do 2 modifications (add new guns, address change, ect within the 2 year CCW expiration before renewal.
