CCW Qual

That is an understatement 😅

Have seen those failing basic safety still passing

That said, whether LA County is 3, 5, and 7 yards, or another county having 15 yards - still have yet to see a CCW qual that is difficult.
What makes it difficult for some is the time factor. They practice at the range, 4 seconds per shot so they're sure not to miss. Then in qualifying it's 6 shots in 5 seconds. I did it with a LCR revolver shooting .32 SW long lol.

Yeah with some ranges not allowing more than one shot per two seconds (lol) or CCW or practicing drawing from a holster I’m not sure where people are expected to practice.

Agreed. I remember the first time I practiced to qual using a timer. I passed shooting about twice as fast as I needed to (hence the practice to get a feel for the pacing).

The training class I took ended with the CCW qual so you get plenty of holster work in that. The CCW quals are really easy

Yeah and what about the rest of the two years?
Some ranges if you take firearms classes will let you do holster work. Any BLM land near you where you can shoot? Also, you could dry fire and do holster work at home or maybe get an airsoft. Not ideal I know.

I'm a member of Placer Sporting Club so I'm allowed to CCW and draw from a holster

If you want a real revelation about shooting low left, hold on target with someone next to you's finger on the trigger. When locked in... tell him squeeze. Then compare his POI to yours.
Funny you mention this. In the class we just did with Mason Lane, he had a few people who were having difficulty with shooting low/left under pressure do this… they held the gun steady and kept the dot on target while he pressed the trigger. Their groups were instantly 5x smaller. Really shows how much input they were putting into the gun with the trigger press.

It was really crazy… I’m talking people who had 24” groups nearly missing the target instantly get 3-4” groups when someone else pressed the trigger
