I also have seen a lot of people “switch” from USCCA to AOR not understanding that they’re paying for something totally different.AOR and CCW Safe (bought out Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network). AOR covers many things that others do not.
I am turned off by the online marketing AOR does against USCCA and the amount of fudd that has been spread by them; most people who spout the “USCCA is awful everyone knows that they deny everything” and other simplified BS remarks have no idea what they’re talking about and are just repeated some Reddit post they saw.
I actually looked into the 2 main cases that are referenced when discussing the apparent denials by USCCA (it’s the insurance company denying it, not USCCA, which no one seems to understand, and in one case there’s actually no proof they dos so just speculation because the dude got a public defender). Both cases seem extremely questionable and I would never find myself in those situations. One involved a woman who, based on what was presented at trial, to me looks really suspicious and indicates she premeditated her husband’s murder, and the second guy shot an annoying influencer for no conceivable reason when his life was threatened in no way whatsoever. As a juror I would probably be convicting both of them of some kind of charges (I’ve only done some reading on the cases so haven’t seen EVERYTHING but what I’ve seen isn’t favorable). In any event, USCCA changed the policy so now that guy’s case would be covered now (if it was even denied) since now coverage is afforded as long as the judge allows a argument of self defense.
Also on the recoupment piece, the contract says they reserve the right to pursue the member for fees if they are found guilty ONLY if REQUIRED to do so by the government based on applicable law. They have never done so.
A lot of bull
