Feedback CCW in Business Casual Attire

Hello all,

I am looking for suggestions on carrying in an office setting where business casual is expected. Business casual defined as tucked in shirts and more fitted pants.

So far I have run a Ruger LCP Max in a pocket holster. I enjoy the lightweight and small size, but I find it prints a bit excessively for my taste. Are there other discreet carry methods to consider?

Possibly transition to a J-Frame .38?

Thanks in advance for any and all shared wisdom and recommendations.

Down side is the combination may become a bit warm.

An ankle holster with a suitably small pistol may also work.

I never figured out a good way with a tucked in shirt. Fortunately I never wear a tucked in shirt.

The lcp II may print a little less than the max? Curious about solutions in case I ever find myself in business attire :shudder:

IWB holster + slightly oversized vest. Think "Finance Bros" look.

I have to dress business casual (slacks, collared shirt tucked in) for work and especially with the winter climate, I tend to rock a slightly oversized vest that sits slightly below the waist line to cover up the holster clips. Eddie Bauer has a bunch that can be had sub $50 (on sale) and are light enough to rock year round. If you're balling, go for the Patagonia.

Trial and error on different holsters until you find something compatible with your body/dress type. Probably AIWB. Have you checked out the Phlster Enigma that doesn’t need to visibly clip on your belt?

What’s your body type? Is it tucked in polos or button down shirts or what kind of shirts do you typically wear? Are you in an office setting where everyone pretty much works independently or is it more of a team environment where you’re always with others? How bad would it be if they knew you were packin? If you can share some finer details maybe others with similar circumstances could chime in with some advice

Looser pants, or have pocket liners tailored to be deeper. Depending on body type and pant material / color can make a difference also. Try different pocket holsters also, they may look alike, but material / thickness matters. I also like to bend/ flex pocket holsters when new a few times until the "wing" takes the shape of my leg so its curved, not sticking straight out, etc.

Also could try a belly ban or chest ban, dress shirt buttons rip off right away in an emergency.

I personally have a Vedder pocket holster on the way for this same use case for my P365.
I've tested it out just slipping it in my pocket at home, and at least with the Vedder/Alabama style holster it should hopefully break up the shape to where it should print much.
Depending on how it works out, I could see myself pocket carrying more often than not tbh (assuming I have the right pants/shorts haha)

I highly recommend the Phlster Enigma for deep carry. I can carry a p365 in a suit with the shirt tucked without any sort of printing. They actually have a whole series about deep carry on their website as well.

There is a company called CCW Breakaways that makes khakis with deep pockets for gun carry. Might be suitable for work environment. Might work for your LCP in your pocket holster.
