Hello All,
New here so thanks for having me. Im a CCW Holder in Ca. My normal carry weapons are a Glock 19 and a Glock 26. Im of normal dad bod size 6' tall 230 lbs. Got a bit of a belly so abdomen holsters aren't the most comfortable. I have many different holsters and belly bands. Belly bands are the most comfortable to me for walking but the ca summers make it hot and uncomfortable. What are your favorite methods of carry for bigger gents?

I love my stealth gear apendix for my xmacro and my shield for years if not a basic wide clip kydex from we the people works great too. And a spare mag on a neo mag in the pocket on a groove belt.

6'2 240. Dad body apendix carry isnt for everyone but its the best way for me to not print all day or have my shirt ride up when reaching. Things get more comfortable over time and on long drives i just pull from apendix and either put in my jacket pocket if others are in the car or just on the deat if alone.

If you decide to carry appendix I think Tier 1 make the best for quality and concealment especially with a wedge. Black arch holsters make some really good hybrid holsters if you decide on a strong side carry.

Not the same size/weights as you but dad bod is what I’d describe my body type as. Appendix holsters never worked for me belly always printed grip but using a IWB stealth gear holster moved forward toward appendix position around 1:30/2:00 works best for me.

5'9 290. I've found a few that work for me. All of them are considered deep concealment. They don't ride as high so they don't sit so high, especially when seated, which is my issue with standard holsters. JX Tactical Fat Guy Holster/Fattac low ride are essentially the same. I've recently found Tactical Justice and their deep concealment holster works just as well as the other choices but is less money. They also seem to have more options for lights which is big for me since my preferred WML is an Olight Valkyrie Mini 2 and not all holster companies offer that as an option

I either run fanny pack or a close tucked owb holster, mostly fanny pack though. It's very convenient honestly surprised it's not more popular to carry that way. Iwb has never been comfy

The Hunter Constaintine belt helps a lot with comfort during appendix carry. I highly recommend it
I struggled for a year trying to be comfortable while carrying. Always adjusting to sit down and then again when I get up. That belt changed all that. I can sit down, bend over, do whatever and its stretchability compensates for all that. I have zero discomfort carrying now.

I'm 6'2/225, and I carry IWB at 4 o'clock with a semi-custom Garrett Industries light-bearing holster on A Better Belt USA 1.75" belt for my 1911 full rail with a Surefire X400 Turbo. The X400 is hard to find holsters for due to the bottom-mounted laser, so I had to go semi-custom. A Better Belt USA makes the best belts I've ever had, and I have a custom horsehide belt stamped with custom text. This combo works great and is very stable.

5'9" 200, aiwb sig macro and glock 19 in an LAS Concealment ronin 3.0.

I rotate depending on activity between Hunter Constantine belt, tenicor zero belt, and kore essentials ratchet belt.

-HC if im going to be eating a lot and sitting a lot
-Zero if im going to range and going to be wearing range belt over
-Kore if im going to be strenuous activities that require micro adjustments throughout the day like lifting and carrying things over my head.

Personally I try to only buy IWB/OWB so I can pick and choose without buying additional holsters.

I have carried all positions and have varied in weight throughout the years.

I hate buying oversized clothing to allow for IWB so I now carry OWB. Shirts and Jackets cover the gun and holster just fine.

I recommend you switch to OWB. Fixes all problems with concealed carry. Even when lifting arms over head the gun won’t get exposed. Maybe a little of the holster at the bottom but that won’t matter.

5’8 195 I use Black Arch Holsters at 3-3:30 for summer carry. I cannot carry appendix due to belly and comfort.

Like @DEADPOOL1977 I carry OWB in the winter with a lightweight jacket or pullover. Bravo Concealment OWB for both my Sig P365X and G43X. I have a G19 on permit but only car carry in lock box
