CCW- does anyone have a Rock Island 1911 on your CCW Permit?

Just curious, does anyone have a Rock Island / Armscor 1911 on your CCW Permit? I'm curious if some IA's will allow them, or if you've had issues with them. I'm looking at one of the "commander" sized ones as a project gun to work up for CCW.
 
I have a Dan Wesson CBOB (Commander Classic) on my permit. I’m 100% certain a Rock Island would be allowed in my county, as long as it’s registered to you. I don’t know where you live, but just call your IA and ask if you want to be sure before you buy one.
 
Different IAs have different requirements, but I don't think there would be any that bar a 1911 outright, especially if it's kept stock. I know some IAs limit modifications, but a stock RIA isn't very customizable to begin with lol.

Main concern of course would actually effectively keeping it concealed if you plan to keep it in a holster, especially depending on your body type. I've seen bigger guys pull it off. I guess off body carry could be viable, with all the caveats built into off body carry of course. I could see an argument for having it as a truck gun or something like that.

If your IA allows like 5 on your permit then why not lol
 
Just be aware, they are heavy to carry all day. Even the commander size. There are lighter 3-3.5 inch 45s.

I have stock island Ed’s on my CCW la county

why would they not allow them? carried full size 1911 RIA for 8 years. SB county. I went full size since I did not see the difference carrying the commander , belt plus leather Y shaped suspenders made a world of difference. the glocks felt like I was carrying a brick at 4 o'clock.
