C93 rebuild by Belt Fed Precision products.

I bought a C93 off the old Calguns - this was a BEATER, terrible condition, transferred in two pieces, had no CA compliant kit with it, at range it would fire one-round and then lock up - meaning "boot to cocking handle" lock up.
The barrel actually wobbled a little on close examination.
No amount of Gunsmiths swapping out rollers (did three sets from RTG) or locking element (tried three different angles - to get close to the factory specified size and angle) could fix it, even had a local smith try to retro fold/adjust the manky receiver metal over a DIY HK mandril he owned - nothing could make this lemon shoot reliably or safely.
What I also discovered was that no one will work on Century arms products, T. Mark Graham, of ARS in Arizona who has built most of my FAL rifle's refused point-blank to touch it.

Finally after a phone conversation, Carlos at Belt Fed Precision agreed to take on this thank-less project.

He replaced the barrel with a new made one, replaced out trigger elements, re-profiled the receiver and deflector, head-spaced and correctly engineered the action and made many other small improvements, he also refinished the rifle.
I wanted a retro looking set up, so I had him completely swap out the chunky plastic pistol grip group with an older looking metal one.
It literally looked like a brand new rifle when I picked it up.
I couldn't wait to get it to the range where, thank the Lord, it it also shot like a brand new rifle.

So, if you find yourself in the same position as me, needing a C93 rebuilt from scratch, I cannot recommend Carlos highly enough.
He's a good guy, too!

Anyway, here's two pics, the old is with plastic lower (I put on the hard stock, it came with some awful aftermarket folding stock), the new is with metal lower with bipod and Kydex grip wrap.
(10/30 mags and mag locks in place, flashhider swapped out with CA compliant one now too, of course.)

The Century guns are dicey. I bought a Century CETME from a board member that had charging handle/un-cocking issue. It just had too big of a gap for the cam to unlock the bolt properly. I fixed it by putting a dime in the cocking tube and it works perfectly now. One of the easiest fixes I have done.

Now it looks legit, the fact that it runs makes this a 100% win. Man the patience and tenacity to find someone to take this project on. I tip my hat to you Sir.

Yes - it was a lot of work, but it's a helluva rifle now -
But, where it wins on retro-cool points, it loses them on practical points, it weighs three times what a modern AR platform weighs, lol!

Anyway, it's a cool one that I've wanted for a while.

But correct, "buyer beware" when circling anything made by Century that doesn't funtion perfectly.

I felt like posting a two year update on this C93 - it is a blaster, zero jams in two years, we've run every manufacturer of ammo through it - plus 5.56 that I've found in the dirt on the range, just to see how it did, shot it and spat it out.
Steel, green tip, Russian, American, whatever, it just shoots everything and ismore accurate than I am, too.

The PTR .308 pistol is another story - that little bastardo is just unpleasant to shoot and shakes itself to pieces, will be visiting Riverside soon.

Century guns are a roll of the dice at best. I don't know how they've stayed in business all these years, but they sell cheap and guys keep getting suckered by the price. I remember the Fal's they used to sell; frankenstein's with commonwealth uppers and metric lowers. Total show.

Well - the fix for mine may not be the same as yours - I basically had him rebuild it and swap out anything that wasn't top quality.
I think it was about a grand labor and the cost of the new barrel and parts - which I felt was reasonable, considering there was no one else I could find to do the work.

It still hasn't jammed or had a single issue.
Here it is shooting at my families place in AZ - better view of the retro lower, sans Kydex.
The bipod and carry handle dont do much but add weight, but they're fun.
