Bonta Finds Firearm Microstamping Technology Viable - Wasting our tax dollars

Well, considering how persuasive you appear to be, I urge to you communicate with Bonta which is something I wager you have never tried to do. I understand that he is very good about answering letters as is Newsom. My wife and I wrote to the Governor and he responded personally, addressing each point we raised in our letter. It's really easy to demonize people you have never personally communicated with.
Oh yeah, get a letter from a lying two face politician or a corrupt AG will change everything especially if it is written flowery.

Writing to hardliners, regardless of either side accomplishes squat.

But hey, fight the good fight with your letters, I applaud you but not gonna hold my breath that they actually give a 💩 about anything but their agenda.

While I often find myself disagreeing with you, most of the time you can articulate a point that I can comprehend clearly.

But to say you wrote a letter like it’s this great feat, and got a personal reply somehow makes it not ok for me to demonize the “Devil” is beyond me.

Newson and Bonta have repeatedly told us, themselves, who they are and what they stand for. But, more importantly, they have also repeatedly shown us exactly who they are through their actions.

At what point do you acknowledge that they are the enemy of the people; by people, I mean law abiding “citizens” of the USA.

I've written letters and they responded with things I couldn't argue with, that California has lower rates of gun violence and homicide than states with more access to guns. Until we come up with an answer for that you won't convince suburban soccer moms that more guns and more bullets in your magazine and more AR15s are better.

My point would be if they really cared about safety and lives they would not have been so lenient on criminals with their policies and laws, full stop.

Want to solve the problem, reduce gun death’s permanently, put the blame and responsibility where it MOSTLY belongs, on the repeat offenders.

1. Use a gun in the commission of a crime, automatically 20 years no early release plus any additional time for added charges.

2. Any crime committed by a documented gang member, while inside or out of prison 10 years no early release plus any additional time for added charges (ex, gang member shoots someone, if found guilty, automatically 30 years * 20 for gun-10 for gang member status*no good time/parole plus any additional charges like murder, attempted murder, etc).

3. Make law crystal clear that a gun was used with intent to commit or during a crime. Not a self defense citation gone wrong where there was no original intent to commit a crime but to protect your life, etc. That would be an important distinction to Reine in some of these whack job DAs and judges who “Feel” it’s never justified to use force to protect yourself.

4. If underage, but documented gang member, uses a gun or both, AUTOMATICALLY treated as an adult, full stop. Close the loophole of gangs getting juveniles to commit hits, etc.

Mass rehabilitation is a myth, some do in fact rehabilitate, but the vast majority do not. Stop the revolving door effect and make them pay for their life choices instead of innocent victims.

If we can’t rehabilitate them, lock them up permanently. No one should have to be a victim of repeat offenders.

There will be some *cough* who will say too harsh or rights violations, etc.

But the simple truth is, do not be a gang member committing crimes and don’t use a gun during the commission of a crime and you will never, ever have to worry about it.

Basically, just keep doing what most decent folk are doing right now.

I gave up on personal snail mail letters back in the 1990's. I would get a 'I feel your pain' response and they would go on doing what they do.

I gave up on email letters 20 odd years ago. Simply deleted or an autopen 'thank you for contacting us' response or more often, nothing.

They only listen to my vote, most of the time. Semi futile here in one party California.

California is Cuba with EV's.

None of that has anything to do with what I wrote. I don't honestly know why you wrote any of that.

Because you said they made the point about lower gun deaths, my point is it’s still the criminals who mostly commit gun crimes and their own policies have been to be extremely liberal on crime, sentencing and 2nd, 3rd, 4th plus chances.

If they actually cared, they would stop the problem where it starts.

My answer is to take the “Rights” away of criminals who are committing most of the gun related crimes through laws and due process instead of taking away Constitutional Rights from the vast majority of law abiding citizens.

Law abiding citizens should not have to face Collective punishment and lose our Constitutional Rights because of criminals and gang members.

So then you are saying that even in a state that's according to you, not tough on crime, we still have one of the lowest homicide and gun violence rates? This is exactly what I mean, "we" as gun owners don't have answers to these real questions. Regular ass democrat voting people won't vote to expand gun rights until you have a meaningful reason that we should have more access to what they consider "weapons of war" etc.

So if you could further lower gun deaths, gun crimes by holding those accountable while simultaneously restoring Constitutional Rights to the vast majority of citizens does not count, matter?

Apparently, you did not comprehend the point in question clearly, undoubtedly that is my fault as the author.

My very brief story about writing to Newsom (about 2nd amendment issues) and having gotten a reply (a favorable one) wasn't to suggest it was a great feat (a rather F-ing snarky comment but, moving on) it was to illustrate that communication from constituents can not only physically reach the politicians but, sometimes, it can impact a politician and possibly contribute to a positional adjustment.

As for your second absurd comment about my experience making it "not ok for me to demonize the “Devil” is beyond me.", seriously, did you not sleep well last night? I don't give a flying F- who you demonize or don't. You go right ahead and hate anyone one as much as you like, be it rational or not.

The other thing that was my fault was that I thought you were being rational and actually wanted to make a difference; to work within the system to effect change, again, I was wrong.

So if you could further lower gun deaths, gun crimes by holding those accountable while simultaneously restoring Constitutional Rights to the vast majority of citizens does not count, matter?
I mean, I'm not sure why you think first of all that people don't go to jail here when they commit violent crimes but even if I throw you that bone, what we are talking about is trying to convince the general college educated public who make up most of the voting population that more guns is better for society. Per the constitution there should be "one Supreme Court" that has final say on what's constitutional and the case law thus far has said that what California is doing is constitutional, that the right to bear arms has limits. That may change and then at that point that decision will be constitutional. Just saying we have infinite rights to guns and that gun restrictions are unconstitutional is ignorant of the legal process and that's why educated people don't consider that an argument.

The point I'm trying to make is that nothing you have said here, and nothing that gun owners say in general is a convincing argument to the 60% of people in California that voted for Newsom. And honestly I'm not sure what is which is why I said I don't really have a good argument against the argument that Dems make that "see gun control works, Ca has lower rates of gun violence."

Except of course in the case of mass shooters and any fool knows that the mass shootings are what drive the new wave of restrictive gun laws.

1. Use a gun in the commission of a crime, automatically 20 years no early release plus any additional time for added charges.
So, does this include all gun related crimes? Does it include bad police shootings as well?

F-in' "A", we don't need no 1st or 5th amendment. Let's go all in on guilt by association! For F-'s sake. Next you'll advocate for declaring the Democratic party a "gang".

3. Make law crystal clear that a gun was used with intent to commit or during a crime. Right, turn California into Florida, let's have a "stand your ground law"! That should work really well on the 5 and 405 freeway. And then we have those pesky errors by the police, breaking into and raiding the wrong home and even shooting the wrong people. I wonder how far a self-defense 'defense' would get me if I neutralized a cop with a 12 ga. when he / she "accidently" breaks into my home.

But seriously, I know you can't cope with politics but, to the best of my knowledge DA's and Superior Court judges in California are elected by the people. Maybe you need to actually do something political to effect the changes you advocate for?

You really do have some serious issues with the Constitution of the United States. You favor guilt and punishment on the basis of association, you are also in favor of cruel and unusual punishment, let's just forget all about the 1st, 5th & 8th amendments.

Personally, I am more concerned about the macro crimes than your micro crimes.

Maybe it's time to start holding the employers and landlords of undocumented people criminally liable? No jobs and no place to live then, no incentive to come to the country. No, no, no, that's too severe, most of those people are white and are a major source of funding for the politicians, got to leave them alone.

How about the police who commit massive amounts of crime, lie, cheat steal and deny people their civil rights, you know abuse power to the nth degree. Not to mention the fraud committed by public employee pension spiking which costs taxpayers billions of $ per year.

Then, we have the massive fraud, corruption and dark money controlling our federal government currently. The bribery, extortion, child sexual abuse (Donald and Jeffery, talking about you), rape, etc., etc., etc.

Oh yes, what about the insurance, banking, pharmaceutical, healthcare and legal industries who basically have a license to rob the country blind.

Lastly an area near and dear to my heart, the military industrial complex. The biggest money hole on God's green Earth. Not to mention that our MIC has become the biggest mechanism for genocide since Adolf Eichmann's and the 🥨's "Final Solution" and Pol Pot's and the Khmer Rouge's "Killing Fields" genocide. Good on us, right, we've done a great job in facilitating Israel's genocide against the Palestinians, so proud.

The problem with law enforcement in this country is they are gullible, naive and not really about law enforcement. They are simply actors in the distraction play. They rarely if ever look up and behind themselves at the people further up the ladder, instead, they are looking down the ladder at what amounts to the visible and petty crimes. They fight the street soldiers and completely ignore those in command.

If you want to motherless 🐐 about gang crime, you should probably include all the gangs that aren't brown and have tattoos, the ones who wear suits to work and and flag pins on their lapels.

I’m just going to respond to this last paragraph because it seems you assume there are just “Brown” gangs that I am talking about.

You do indeed have brown gangs (divided in California by north/south as well as local territory, but also white, black, Asian, etc.

I feel I need to correct this as “brown” people as you put it do not have a monopoly on gangs or gang activity and to suggest I think otherwise paints me as some kind of racists which couldn’t be farther from the truth.

I understand you were trying to include bankers, politicians, CEOs, etc. But I felt the correction was needed to point this out the way your post regarding this was worded.

I have only been talking about prison and street gangs as it relates to gun violence, you are going off on a completely different tangent.

California is Cuba with EV's.

Easy to say, but CA has the fourth largest economy in the world, you live in or near beautiful Carlsbad as did I for many years and, you can leave anytime you like. So, it's a rich, beautiful Cuba with better weather, electric vehicles and 28.3 guns for every 100 people, so, not really Cuba at all.

That is indeed true but the vast majority of arrests and convictions of "gang members" are of brown people. It's also painfully obvious that law enforcement does virtually nothing about the white, white collar criminals, probably too hard for them, so much easier to go after the tattoos and skin color.

Anything to distract from all the super big dollar and massive casualty criminals.

Go to say Wisconsin, you will have almost exclusively white and black gang members being arrested for illegal activities. Why you may ask, because that is the majority of the population there.

Take California, being a border state and "Sanctuary State" to boot means the majority of your gangs are Hispanic. Its just a numbers game.

And in the context of gun laws, and peoples Constitutional Rights being denied because of mass shootings, by definition is three or more people shot. What Dems in particular always fail to mention is that the vast majority country wide mass shooting statics are gang related. Most gun deaths are by suicide which Dems also use to bolster their case about firearm safety but completely ignoring the fact that someone exercised their right to end their life (I am not going to discuss the morality or religious views as this is not prudent to the above discussion).

I just do nor see how talking about the military complex, white collar crime, etc is prudent to the topic at hand. No doubt interesting, but meaningless in our discussion regarding gun rights that we are having.

Think of it this way, news will do these gotcha stories and make police arrests about race.

What they always purposely fail to mention is what the population ratios of that particular police departments city. If you work say Otay Mesa, National City etc your majority population is Hispanic. If you worked Santee it would be white, etc. And you would have what would appear to be a high number of arrests by race. But if the population in one area is 70-80% one race, etc, you're statistically going to have a higher arrest by the majority race of that area because there are more people of that race living there.

To simplify, if you had a small city of 999 black people and 1 white person and 40 black people were arrested and the 1 white guy was also, it would look like the cops were racial profiling and just running around arresting white people because the statistic would be 100% whites arrested.

This is how the media fools people, they give you a simple statistic that admittedly might look bad, but if you had all the information such as populace by race and age, the statistic would more than likely make complete sense. But they know most will only read the glamorized headline and never question how everything was applied, much less take the time to fact check, etc

The point is, in our modern era, the legislating and enforcement of laws is neither logical or fair in America, it is driven almost 100% by emotion and public opinion. Public opinion, sadly, is driven by demagoguing talking heads, by 10 second news bites and a very heavily polluted and manipulated social media.

Bringing this back directly to firearm legislation, politicians don't give a rat's ass about ad hoc murders and shootings of one two or three people, they also don't give a 💩 about internal gang violence, their attitude is: "fine, let them kill each other off". What is driving the gun laws are massacres at schools, churches, synagogues, community centers, concerts (Vegas), etc. and they don't have to happen in California for their constituents to demand action.

You can motherless 🐐 all you want about the firearm legislation but, until you come up with a practical, implementable way to prevent the massacres which cause massive public outrage, your motherless 🐐ing is going to fall on deaf ears UNLESS you come up with something that scares the politicians more than public outrage.

You can talk all you want about gangs and repeat offenders but, those are not the perpetrators of the massacres that grab the public's attention. Get rid of the massacres of school children, etc. and the firearm legislation will settle down.

You might or might not admit it but, with everyone having access to weapons capable of high volumes of accurate fire AND the perps of most massacres not being on the law enforcement radar, it's almost impossible to prevent the massacres. And before you touch on mental health, it's clearly obvious that the US doesn't care enough about mental to pay for the services that MIGHT intercept some of these issues. We are happy to put hundreds of billions of dollars into overseas genocides but will likely never provide healthcare for our population because.... socialism.
