Bianco vs Hilton | Who’s more pro 2A?

Not all new members. Not even most. Just trying to make sense of why so many people seem so instinctively negative about the two republican candidates so far. To the point of completely ignoring the original question.
You have embarked upon an exercise in futility.

You are better off trying to understand women.

I personally think Bianco is more 2A even if he's done things I disagree with and most of his other non-2A policies seem pretty bad. Hilton being a pro-thatcher (who passed the Firearms (Amendment) Act of 1988 btw) neocon is arguarbuly worse then a cop in my opinion.

Where have the democrat super majority gotten us on any 2A issues? Tax issues? Homelessness? Fraud? Energy policy? Wildfire relief?
I will say that most people in this state have no f'n clue what they are voting for! Want an example? Gas tax. Who TF would vote for such high gas tax? They know exactly what they are doing when they put these bills together. Have you ever asked yourself, why isn't a gas tax specifically put on the ballot by itself? Well, why not? Because it would get shot down immediately! Well, who knows these days. :ROFLMAO:

You can say what you want about whoever you want, but both sides are full of :poop:! No one side is better than the other IMO. Nothing but two gangs.

Taxes can only be increased by constitutional amendment which means 2/3s of the legislature votes for it and then there's an automatic companion bill that goes on the next ballot, it can only happen with voter approval. It was literally put on the ballot. https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180SB1

Real question though, if not a gas tax then how would you like to pay for roads? As I stated in a comment above, Ca pays for almost all of it's own roads whereas states like Texas get welfare from the feds for 40% of their road spending which is significantly higher than ours in both total dollars and especially per capita.

We are getting off topic now, but have you driven anywhere in California lately? Our taxes are hardly paying for any roads or even maintenance. Some of the potholes developed after it rains here are more like craters. Nothing but a joke! God forbid you drive over it with any low profile tires.

Oh another thing, street lights out for extended amounts of time. I can tell you I've used the MyLA311 app to get a street light fixed and it took over a year and multiple app requests to get it fixed. Another joke!

Also, turning public carpool lanes that have already been paid for by our parents are now being turned into a pay to use lane. Where TF di that come from and where is that money going?

I agree we need some serious change. Does it start with Bianco? I don't know, but voting for him just because he is a R is idiotic IMO. Just to be clear, I would say the same thing about Hilton.

I’m voting for Bianco because he was responsibly issuing CCW’s before the court cases. I’n voting for Bianco because in his jurisdictions, property owners who are forced to use deadly force in defense of their lives are given a fair shake. I’m voting for Bianco because he’s not some wicked out nut-job “furby attracted” pervert. I’m voting for Bianco because the things he says and does aline with my beliefs. I DGAF that he’s been a democrat all his life.

EDIT:

FYI, I voted for Brown because he was honest and straight out said: I’m going to tax TF out of california. Unlike that eBay skank who put up billboards in english that said one thing and billboards in Spanish that said something 180 degrees from that. Brown was honest and that’s a base requirement even if he did kick off the $.5T train to Barstow that will never be completed. At least he was honest and I’ll take it. Bat 💩 crazy but honest.

Having potholes is just an anecdote, the information is publicly available if you want to look at caltrans projects there's a list a mile long in Los Angeles county. Im up north and right now near me they are expanding a whole interchange and have been working on it for over a year now so if I used a personal anecdote I would say that they are doing a lot and responding to a real problem. I don't have to use an anecdote because again, that information is publicly available. I'm not saying the system can't be improved, I'm sure it can, but how could it be improved by a guy who wants to cut the primary funding source?

Like anything else, if you want it you gotta pay for it, so if you want perfect roads be prepared to pay more taxes. Again, I'm not saying it can't be improved but it's also totally absurd to think that just because you see potholes that you are getting nothing for your money. Unfortunately that seems to be the predominant attitude among voters, they vote with how they feel rather than for specific policy. The gas tax is 2-3 cents a mile, it probably doesn't make a difference in your budget honestly, it sounds way worse when you say 61 cents a gallon but it's 15 percent of the cost when gas is in the low 4s and even less if gas hits 5 dollars.

If you think "something has gotta change" then what specifically has to change? Do you understand the politics and process of infrastructure enough to make an informed decision? For instance it's likely that the county is responsible for the roads with potholes and definitely that street light and they pay for that maintenance with local sales tax, so what can a governor do to help the county fix your potholes?

State gas taxes do not go to a highway fund, they go directly to the general fund to be spent as the legislature wishes. That was changed years ago. That means it's spent on the homeless industrial complex, trains that will never run and a host of other special projects as each representative have their own pet projects to fund.

The governor here is just a token job used to advance to national office. We don't even need a governor here, the super majority legislature writes and passes these laws knowing they don't need a governor's signature. If ignored, it passes automatically. If vetoed, it is over written.

The real battle here is assembly and state senate offices.

Is that what I said? I want to cut the primary funding source? Please point that out because I don't see it.

Typical bull💩 spin that goes on around here.

Have at it................

no that's what Bianco said, that's what I was referring to. I thought that was obvious because I wrote several paragraphs about Bianco's "policy" ideas above.

Bianco is the most 2A supportive candidate. Anyone who disagrees is delusional and quite frankly should be ignored.

Now whether you support any of his other policies or if he can even get his 2A agenda passed as Governor is a totally different thing.

I clearly think he's full of 💩 but I can't disagree

I don't care if it Bianco or Hilton just so long as it's not one of the Democrats.

The problem is unless someone makes either Hilton or Bianco drop out, they will split the Republican vote and two Democrats will end up as finalists. That's the big danger, IMO.

@ikeo1 Would you be against a site map where each member can select which district and county they reside in and the totals can be visible to all so we can see where we push the most weight on the scale?
We are 37000 strong, gotta count for something somewhere.
37000 active members that are also single issue voters would count for something.

California has about half a million residents per assembly district; the number of registered voters per assembly district is about 300,000. Overall, California has a 60% vote share for democrats, or on average about 60,000 more democrats than republican votes per assembly district. Assuming that what you mean by "single issue voters" is votes per republican, then on average if all CAguns members by coincidence lived in a single assembly district, they would probably not even swing that district the other way.

Now in reality, that calculation is wrong. The biggest reason is that some state assembly races are decided by smaller margins. So if we could identify one of these swing districts, and make all 37,000 CAguns members sell their houses and move there, we would have a chance to decide maybe one district. That would not change the majority in the state legislature at all, but it would be fun. Note that such a plan was proposed decades ago: to have a few hundred gun people move to Alpine county (population of the whole county: about 1200). There they could swing the election for sheriff, DA, county supervisors, and school board (note that Alpine county doesn't even have a high school).

But there is another factor: Roughly a third of all gun people in California (between a quarter and a half) are democrats, not republicans. While they may be single issue voters, they would probably not vote for the candidate you would like.

The salvation for California gun rights does not come from electing republicans. It requires convincing democrats that being anti-gun is pointless and ultimately damaging. Being obnoxious towards democrats does not accomplish this task.
