Bianco vs Hilton | Who’s more pro 2A?

With Bianco’s pro-criminal stance, you’d think democrats would be falling over themselvs to support him.

Whats the republican stance on criminals? put them into the highest office and dont punish them for ignoring the constitution in that office? putting a convicted felon, rapist who ignores the constitution doesnt read as pro law and order. If your response is any form of "but democrats, obama biden clinton". You will be responding like a child does and ignoring bush bush and reagan doing things too.

If anyone has a problem with calling him a rapist, read the transcripts

The funny thing is that if you remove orange bad man from their inner discussion, they are indistinguishable from an average human.

I know a guy who just for funsies, in his presence, I proceeded to tell another friend about how upset I was over a game of spades, my queen of hearts was trumped. I swear to god, I will never do that again. The guy had walked in the room with his full faculties but upon hearing the word “trumped” he broke out into a mindless diatribe about rape and felonies and assignations and that kid should have practiced more. His face turned red and the veins in his neck started pulsing. I will NEVER do that again, I was afraid he was going to stroke out on us.

“How do you write TDS’ers so well?”

Replies in this thread are the exact reason we lose 2A rights in CA, and the exact reason I have no faith in humanity
I think you may be correct. Another I we is come general election if ones”guy” didn’t get the nomination or make the ballot that person will be butthurt and not bother to support the party candidate.

They will then complain about how the democrats are taking more away while they sat back.

This is one reason democrats are successful in some elections. No matter what come general election they will show up to vote against the enemy. They may not like the nominee but will vote by party.

I think we have a lot of new gun owners in this forum who only got into guns after the events of Trumps second term (Palestine, ICE etc).

They want guns only in so far as it helps them resist Trump ( which sure it’s their right). But I’m not even sure they really give a 💩 about the second amendment

I'll say this about Biancos main platform: He wants to take away income tax and replace it with oil sales. CA consumes 1.8 million barrels of oil a day and has 1.7 billion barrels of proven oil reserves. So if we were completely "energy independent" our oil would last less than three years. China is leading the way in "green energy" but it's not because they care, it's because they don't have oil and it's cheaper and more accessible to have an electric economy instead. So a lot of the push for renewables here is also in the same vein, it's literally about supply and having a future vs environmentalism even though that's also a benefit.

In order to change tax policy in CA it requires a constitutional amendment with 66% of the legislature voting for it. But with the above in mind, why would anyone in the legislature vote for it when they know that the concept is untenable because there isn't enough oil to replace income tax? Only an idiot would vote for that.

In his recent interview on CNN he also says he wants to be tough on immigration. But then he acknowledges that we need the people here for labor so he starts out saying "we gotta deport everyone" but also then "but the real problem is that the federal immigration system is broken" to "well maybe amnesty is the right thing but we have to at least punish them". Aside from punishing people that's literally just an Obama policy and the biggest issue is really that the feds are in control of visas and citizenship, so what can a governor or even the state legislature do?

I hate the roster as much as anyone but I don't think this guy has a real platform. It's all just reactionary populism and no policy.

I accepted that as long as I choose to live in CA, the 2A will always have to be a secondary right unfortunately. It's the unfair compromise that we have to make to be here. It shouldn't be that way, but it's our reality.

As long as the 2A remains a political tool, as long as the Democratic party remains against it, and so long as the Democrats maintain their hold on the supermajority in CA, nothing can be done. Even a Republican governor can't do much with the supermajority able to override everything.

Even if we get favorable rulings from SCOTUS, CA will just create new laws to keep restricting our rights.

I respect everyone's right to vote however they wish, for whatever reasons they want, but I'm under no disillusionment that we will ever get to exercise the 2A to the same level as other states, or that people will be willing to do what it takes to make our situation better. CA will remain a Democratic supermajority and the relentless gun control will not let up.
It's almost as if I wrote this. LOL exactly as I feel

Bianco's platform is nonsensical, but also irrelevant. As governor he will have zero power to change gun law. He will have zero power to direct the DoJ to enforce laws differently (as the AG is elected, and not bound to follow orders from the governor). He can not change the tax system without the majority of the legislature (which he will not have), nor without a referendum (since much of the tax system is enshrined in the state constitution). And immigration policy is the realm of federal policy. The fact that he pretends to have these positions as his platform just demonstrate that he is a fraud.

Some of the same argument also applies to Steve Hilton, but he's less direct about making empty promises.

At first I thought it was the the non paying non contributing non feedback trolls. But lately some of the mods let their true colors show.

Thats why you need to vote for a republican down the ballot so that we can actually get some things done here already.

Both Bianco and Hilton would put an end to leveraging our children’s and infant’s earnings to finance the slow speed train to Barstow boondoggle. Seems pretty nonsensical. If you ever read animal farm, that train is a windmill, by every metric.

The high speed rail is from a ballot initiative that happened in 2008, per state law it would have to be voted on again as another ballot initiative to be repealed. So Bianco being governor has almost nothing to do with whether or not the high speed rail project is abandoned. Looking at his page on transportation an infrastructure is pretty funny because it's even stupider than I thought. He says he will suspend the gas tax but then also invest in infrastructure and expand freeways. The gas tax is what pays for the infrastructure and freeways. Texas has a higher overall spending on their roads and significantly less people so they actually pay quite a bit more per capita for their roads. But, they only pay 50% of the cost. Guess who pays the other 40%? Comes from the feds, we literally pay for almost half of Texas's roads. In CA we are very close to being self sufficient for road spending and pay for something like 90% of our roads, with the gas tax! So Again, literally nothing in his platform makes sense and is designed to trick dummies like you by appealing to your hatred of things you don't understand.

Do you plan on voting for a Democrat candidate?

I don't like any of the candidates but there are some that are downright retarded. I don't play team sports, it's likely I'll just forget to vote again because it won't make a difference anyway. Like I have endless criticism for the state government and I hate the Democrats but guys like Bianco don't have an answer they're even worse. Like he's so dumb and out of touch that it makes me defend what we have because he would make it worse. The answer isn't just to tear everything down, you have to know how government actually works if you want to make it better. In my humble opinion 😉
