Best source for manganese phosphate parkerizing solution?

I’ve got some projects to complete and my solution is > 10 years old….even though I’ve only used it a few times, I think it would be prudent to get some fresh juice. I find it on eBay but have no idea if it is good quality or a reasonable price.

It does not go bad as long as you keep it in the right concentration.
I went 10+ years on my first gallon of Brownells solution before I finally used up enough of it that I needed to get another gallon to continue replenishing my batch.

If you are getting a new gallon anyways, give me your old stuff.
I'll run it.

I always liked the Allegany Arsenal park mixes but it looks like they are now out of business and the company seliing their product now is pretty expensive.

When I need more concentrate I will probably try the Steel Vantage from mg34.com.

It looks like there’s ground up rust flakes in the bottom of the bottles, is my solution toast? Would you dump it or just add more concentrate to it?

Usually the parcipitate that forms in the solution is white. I would just pour the clear liquid off and spike it with fresh solution. Test it out before you try something expensive and complicated. I like to test with something like a harbor freight cotter pin assortment box.

Well, just moments before I read your post I received a discounted offer from this eBay seller and bought it. I’ll try spiking it and see what happens.

@AR15barrels good news is you are getting all my park solution and accoutrements, even the SS tank if you want. The bad news is that if I ever need to park something again, I’m coming to your house.

If that's the original batch you made and you put in some powdered iron to get the process started, then that rusty stuff is the starter powder.
Pour off all the clear liquid and mix up some more more replensish with fresh concentrate and water.

The white is salts that get attached to oil that was not properly removed from the parts.
If you fully degrease your parts before they go into the park solution, you will not get very much of that white stuff.
The more white stuff you are generating in your tank, the more oil you are putting into the tank.
Filter your whole batch through coffee strainers to get rid of the oil crud.

I degrease with solvent first and then hot soapy detergent water. I’m pretty thorough on degreasing. Oil has a profound impact on the finished quality. Not sure what that rust looking stuff is but there isn’t any white crystals in the solution. All I have to do is an A5 receiver, an AMD65 and a enfield. You can have what’s left.
