I’m going to acquire an AR soon and would like to find a training course/class to learn the ins and outs of operating an AR. Is there any good ones you recommend in the Orange County area?

If you have the means and time, I highly recommend taking the .223 Carbine course at Gunsite Academy in Paulden Arizona. The follow up class to that is .556, and .556 Night. Yes, classes there are not inexpensive, and you must make arrangements for travel, etc. However, you will learn a whole lot, and be competent in all aspects of using your AR.

Did you find a place to train with AR? I'm currently looking for one as well.
Look out for Ravenwing or My Own Defender. Both schools have professional team shooters that are GM or M class in USPSA. Not only are the instructors at both of these schools incredibly passionate about shooting, they're always trying to get better too.

It looks like Ravenwing doesn't have any more level 1 rifle courses this year. But MOD has a 2-Day Rifle/Pistol class coming up in October 19-20 @ Burro.

It's a little far from OC but ITTS in LA is probably the best overall school I've been to, especially for beginners. It's run my LAPD SWAT guys, they do handgun, carbine, sniper, shotgun, and special courses like TCCC. They're always incredibly professional, and they take safety VERY seriously which I really appreciate. Anyone in socal, that's my recommendation for all beginners at the very least.

Did you end up attending any classes? Just would like to hear about it.
