I am looking for any feedback from anyone that took Ben’s class last year or has attended a Ben and Joel class elsewhere. They are very popular selling out their classes almost everywhere. How do they compare to other notable teachers like Tom Castro, Joey Sauerland or JJ Racaza?

I took Ben’s class last year and it was good. At the time I was 1 month in to shooting matches and it really helped with basic fundamentals. Took tom Castros class last month and I feel like I learned more match oriented fundamentals which is what I was really looking for at this point.

In watching some of Stoeger’s videos one thing really changed my shooting. It took a few thousand rounds to deprogram my grip from all the past years but “floaty thumbs” was a game changer to me.

Yeah this felt weird to me at first but it’s getting more natural as I practice, and it seems to make me more accurate. I’m not convinced it was actually my thumbs putting input into the gun before, but somehow floaty thumbs helps me relax my strong hand and ONLY engage the trigger finger muscles instead of the other fingers/palm.

I completely changed my grip. I was always really far forward with my weak hand. That kinda leads one to being firm with my weak side thumb. Not contact wise but just a firm straight thumb. Bottom line for me I really relaxed my grip with kinda both hands. The guns going to do what it’s going to do no matter how firm you grip it. For me the grip like I said took a few K rounds to get used to doing less ha ha ha . The intensely looking at a/the spot on a target and just flat ignoring the dot is also big. I know I’m doing things wrong when I notice I have an astigmatism. Ha ha ha. This is just for active shooting but I’m not a bullseye shooting kinda guy in the first place. 🙃
