How much does a person stand to gain when they "accidentally" get shot by some john wick wannabe at these so called patriot clubs? I would imagine there will be some liability insurance purchased?

I guess what I meant was real world training, again, politics should have nothing to do with real world defensive and offensive training. in the real world is there really such thing as a Lone Ranger proficient marksman?

you mean uspsa? Or the mil sim? All instructors are required to carry minimum $1 million insurance at our club. I personally verify the insurance for traveling instructors to make sure they are rated A- +. The insurance needs to be rated by AM Best.

For the Patriot exercises it’s important to know if they’re a captive insurance or not if it’s a private instructor.

What group training and classes have you done and how would this be any different? Have you competed on a squad or taken defensive or tactical group classes? What has informed this question?

I have no idea. When I say those group exercises, I’m just saying make sure they’re insured and not just a group of guys in the woods LARPing missions with active munitions.

I’m a club officer for SCVRC and we have action days for both pistol and carbines. We are not instructors and do not claim to be, we give coaching on movement and target engagement but there is LARPING, running missions in the woods for us. We carry liability insurance for obvious reasons but also that is required by the county in order for us to book the 200yd Metcalf range.

Actually airsoft is great practice. They get used all the time for certain drills. Cost effective for sure

By and large, the clubs here are range facilities. You pay membership to have access to the range.

There are some clubs that are predicated on competition shooting disciplines, which are not directly affiliated to range facilities.

Beyond that, I don't know of clubs/organizations that are just focused on training meetups.

There is a "Defensive Shooting Club" that runs I think 2x a month down in San Jose at Metcalf. I will DM you an email address.

I agree. It's also good to run with them in active scenarios. They go full larp gear. It's also quite fun and will tax your cardio if you wear all your gear.

They have it outdoors at abandoned bases, or also in warehouses setup like a shoot house. If you're thinking SHTF, I can almost guarantee, it'll be a mix of the hecticness of airsoft. I have an electric m4 and a tokyo marui G17 with RDS lol.

I think it all really depends what you really want to simulate. It's also way cheaper to per day vs running live ammo. One you test strategy, the other you focus on shooting fundmentals, or focus on triage first aid, light search and rescue, etc.
