I just dropped a decent order, some of it for stuff I don't even have yet. Local vendors are going to see a huge drop in ammo sales, since so many online places are offering lower prices, free shipping on bulk orders, and no excise tax.

I gave you a prime example of California ignoring federal (immigration) laws. What exactly does it matter if it is gun related or not? Are you suggesting that it makes a difference?

500 rds 30 days? There are no limits to how many rounds you can purchase in California within a given time period. If you SELL ammo, you must have an Ammunition Vendor License to sell over 500 rds, is that what you are referring to?

As of this afternoon there has been no Bulletin or any official CA DOJ messages or emails to California FFL or Ammo dealers. So until we are told otherwise we still are required to run the $5.00 background and collect any taxes on ammo sales/transfers.

You no longer need a FFL for ammunition transfer/sale.

Technically this may be true but I just can't see this being a thing anymore. Without the FFL requirement that limit requirement falls apart.

He knows that the CADOJ can destroy his life. No one will come to his rescue either, the federal courts won’t be there for him when the CADOJ kicks in his front door and whisks him away in handcuffs. Even if he doesn’t spend an extended time period in a jail cell, he could be left in financial ruins. Put your faith in the federal courts at your own peril, don’t expect that others will do the same.

EDIT TO ADD:

I don’t believe this ruling applies to dealers within the state. Only those ammunition dealers out of state.

I'm not familiar enough with immigration law and sanctuary city laws to be able to evaluate that example. But I've spent a lot of time and effort learning to understand gun laws.

Farwest is an excellent FFL; they have personally helped friends of mine who were in sticky and tricky situations. They are indeed a friend to the 2A community. I'd rather have them around for another few years, and not have the CA DoJ come waltzing in and pull their license.

And, I gave you an example via California’s Sanctuary State Law, which directly circumvents federal immigration law. I also continue to ask what does it matter if it is gun related or not? Ignoring federal law by the state is an actual thing. If the state can ignore one federal law, what makes you believe they can’t or won’t ignore another?
