Law Appeals Court Blocks California’s Background Checks for Ammunition Buyers - (7-24-2025)

Honest question: Is it possible for us to keep this thread focused on a factual discussion of the issue of ammunition control in California?
Honest answer: No.

Theoretical experiment for the socratic method: If the admins / moderators cleaned up, and required some people to take less hallucinogens, it might be possible. But that's in a parallel universe.

Is that because being insulting and dismissive is how discussions should be conducted? The world view of old white men is not the honest and factual truth that you believe it to be. A study of American History may be a good start to see beyond the world you live in. Or not? Either way, the world isn’t a cookie cutter place where everyone shares in the exact same experiences, certainly not when it comes to encounters with law enforcement officials. There is an abundance of evidence out there to demonstrate that point, if you should ever choose enlightenment over insults.

Personally, I never block anyone. To me it means that the person blocked wins in my opinion. No matter how ridiculous, or even verbally violent they become I’m not even phased by another persons words or opinions that I don’t agree with. Some, emphasis on some, just take things personally and they let their emotions get the best of them. To each their own. Certainly the block feature may be a good tool for people who feel they need it.
I get tired of reading the same buzz words/ arguments every post regardless of topic. Once you get to a certain age, you realize your time on this earth is not infinite and you just stop putting up with the BS; nothing to do with win or losing. Games are for the young.

I understand, and my response wasn’t to push my view point onto you. It was just a vantage point. All is good.

After weighing all the pros and cons, I’ve decided to cancel my July 25th order. I don’t want to stay stuck in this gray area, especially when it feels like half the country is just waiting to throw me to the alligators and strip my kids of their citizenship before shipping them off to some prison in Ecuador or wherever. In a different situation, I would’ve kept the order — but as it stands, I’d rather not take unnecessary risks. Besides, I’ve already got enough of a stash to defend myself if it ever comes to that.

And that’s what makes this anti 2A state so criminal. Free people do not live like this. Law fare should not dominate and install fear into people’s lives.

Just got my 1st ammo order in last night from order date 7/24.

Gavin Newsom thanks you.

And as for the part about half the country just waiting to throw you to the alligators and strip your kids of their citizenship before shipping them off to some prison in Ecuador, the media has really done a number on you. For your own sake, you need to stop getting your news and information from CNN, MSNBC, and The View.

I found this old thread on thefiringline.com. Some may find it relevant to this discussion. It is in reference to a Mercury Times article when open carry of an unloaded pistol was widely exercised in CA.

The subject LEO talks about killing California Citizens on his FB Page who open carried their unloaded weapons. Only after being confronted by his remarks did the LEO later say that he was “joking.” While it is not indicative of Law Enforcement as a whole, it most certainly demonstrates that the flawed belief that DISPROPORTIONATE LAW ENFORCEMENT REACTION does not exist is patently false.

Those that have never personally experienced it may not be able to relate, but that does not dismiss it. Be it because of someone’s ideological beliefs, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, race, religion, or someone simply exercising their constitutional rights. Disproportionate Law Enforcement Reaction does in fact exist and it can in fact lead to a violent response by Law Enforcement Officials.

People deliberately try to instill fear — even here on the forum, we've seen comments like "I want immigrants to be afraid."
As I’ve said before, certain demographics have always seen me as a second-class person. So naturally, I’ll never trust them — and I will always protect myself and my family from those who wish us harm.

I agree with you. If a poster bothers you so much that you must hide their comments, it probably means they have touched and nerve and you probably need to visit that for your own benefit.

Who wants “immigrants to be afraid” exactly on these boards? Can you link the thread where somewhere on these boards someone posted that? Illegal immigrants should fear deportation no doubt, immigrants that come to this country legally not at all.
