Question Anyone have experience with Oceanside Practical Pistol @ Iron Sights Range?

2 gun training/match, very informal. Sunday at range 3 SBRGC, 1230-430pm. got a lot more shooters than usual showin up so gonna be little more structured than usual.

gonna be doing some transitions from rifle to pistol, shooting from car doors/seated, el presidentes, and other stuff.

DM me if interested, signups through email usually end on thursday but can add one or 2 last minute
reviving an old post. Do you still do matches? Moved recently so havnt had a chance to do any matches in the last year. Looking to get into it again so checking what's out there.

Hey CAGuns - I'm interested in trying some of the Fun Steel matches offered by OPP (Oceanside Practical Pistol) over in Oceanside.

Does anyone have experience with these matches? What did you think?

Would I be ok without gear, just to get the hang of things, or is a holster/gun belt/mag pouches mandatory?

Thanks!
OPP (iron sites) Steel Match is very newb friendly. If you have a bag for your pistol, they are very good about making ready up on the line if you don't have a holster for your firearm. You can start with pistol pointed downrange in ready position. You will need at least 3 magazines. ea stage is 6 targets, 3 strings so 18 rounds min
(6 rounds, reload, 6 rounds, reload, 6 rounds) You will need to register on Practiscore

yeah i havent showed up to it in a minute, but its still going on every third sunday of the month at south bay rod and gun club. its 15 for members, 30 for guests. 1230-4pm. more of a training event than competition. can email the actual match director sbrgc.arc@gmail.com and see what we doin this month. probably some 2 gun training

the skill floor is pretty low, but we try to do some dynamic stuff

I've been shooting at OPP and it's been a (literal) blast. The matches are challenging and everyone is very supportive. I highly recommend it!

Damn, OPP match is full tonight. I was hoping to do LDF again but my goodness, they have at ton of shooters, it'll prob be 1 hour per stage

OPP is getting quite popular! Match registration opens the prior week on Friday at 8:30am and typically fills up by the afternoon. Gotta act quick!
