Gear Any watch guys?

What's tactical?
I don't buy or wear watches but I appreciate the artistry, engineering, and craftsmanship.

Some people don't care about cars and those cost way more, with a much more mission-critical application. I put a whole lot of thought into what I drive, or in my case, that which drives me.

Whether others appreciate our interests has nothing to do with their value.

It does what all yall expensive watches do. Except I could lose this while fisting a girl and not worry a dime about it.

I have 2 EDCs, one is the omega Seamaster professional (black dial) that I bought for myself as a “you just landed your first career position” watch, the second is a Datejust from the 80s from my grandpa that was originally a silver dial but has patina’d over time into a nice champagne/rose gold colored dial. 99% of the time I have one of those on my wrist. Yes, it’s male jewelry. Yes, it’s the one thing we’re able to wear without being called gay. And yes, they represent an fargone time when intricate mechanical engineering and craftsmanship mattered. My Apple Watch does the same thing and more, but these 2 pieces represent something important and I’ll never stop wearing them.

I have the same one, same color. It's the watch I turn to when I'm concerned I might otherwise damage or lose something else. Bought it for my first Hawaii trip and it's been every subsequent trip. Every time my wife and i are snorkeling, that's what's on my wrist: incredibly easy to read lightweight, easy to clean. Legit $12 spent!

Casio’s are hard to beat period for a watch that does its job and also doesn’t matter what happens to it. I have a Casio specifically for range/camping that I like but don’t care what happens to it.

Anyone have or make Seiko Mods?

I built and sold a couple hundred during the pandemic. Only have one now, it’s a 6105 Willard dial in a vintage dive case. Been sourcing to build one more in a vintage Benrus case but it’s on the back burner for a minute because I keep buying gun crap
