Any news on losing our RTB with a felony DUI?

It is customary to strip convicted felons of certain rights. I agree with some and not with others. In this case, taking firearms out of the hands of someone who has proven to have such a tremendous lack of judgement is acceptable. However, there should be a better path for restoring said rights after he actually grows up, if ever.

You contradict yourself, sir. A felony, along with losing the ability to lawfully possess firearms, IS the prescribed punishment.

I'm quite curious how you would feel about taking the ability to lawfully own firearms from someone who frequently stands in his front yard, in town, surrounded by houses, businesses, and schools, firing full 30 round magazines randomly into the air in all directions but without aiming at anyone in particular. Your commentary seems to point towards you being OK with just writing that person a ticket, even after multiple instances or where he negligently shoots and kills someone.
 
I'm absolutely fine with felony DUI losing gun rights, the only thing I'm concerned about is that they probably got their driving privileges back a long time ago. I think some people may be confused about what a felony DUI is, it's not just blowing .08 you have to do it multiple times or do a hit and run or cause injury etc. They also seem to be confused about the concept of stealing more than 950 dollars with intent, and accidentally overdrawing your account and bouncing a check. I'm personally fine with non-violent felonies retaining gun rights but something like felony DUI is inherently violent and dangerous and shows extreme lack of judgement which is a cornerstone of being a responsible gun owner.

Yes Hit Factor is clearly not able to comprehend the concept of being responsible for one's own actions.

It's CA law and it's in the FSC test we've all taken and ostensibly passed. Do I think felons should be able to buy guns? No. I also have little sympathy for felony drunk drivers.

I would rather have none. Both equally should be disqualified. Funny enough even a misdemeanor Domestic Violence charge can take away someone’s rights to have a firearm
 
The difference between misdemeanor battery and felony battery is if you hurt the other person, basically. If you punch a guy but no injury occured you would likely just get a misdemeanor. But that to me isn't less violent per se than if injury occurs, it just means they aren't particularly skilled. They likely had the same intent and lack of self control. If that's applied to firearms the result could be much worse. A misdemeanor is still serious, you can go to jail for a year generally.

I actually acquired a Remington Model 11 based on a TRO. Buddy followed his gf to find out she was cheating, and she told the court that him having the gun made her feel unsafe. No conviction or anything, just a TRO, I told him I'd sell it back once he was clear. He ended up telling me to keep it
