Looking to get one in the future, but I rarely see lever guns around here, ESPECIALLY in stainless. And even then, it's always in 45-70....
 
Tough one. About 15 years ago, I would have sent you to Frank Tabor, in San Bruno (I think he was on El Camino). He's long retired. He was a specialist in cowboy action shooting, and had a good selection of lever rifles. I remember once making the big mistake of saying the word "Rossi" in his shop, and barely survived; Frank was opinionated, but his opinions seemed well founded. He wanted me to buy a Japanese-made Winchester instead, which would have been a good choice.

Imbert & Smithers (just down the road on El Camino) closed about a year or two ago, after their owner had a difference of opinion with either the DoJ or the ATF. Not a lever rifle specialist, but they had lots of traditional rifles.

Here's my suggestions for something for stores that carry stuff that is not a pistol or a black rifle, but they probably won't have the new Ruger/Marlin in stock: Castello's Gun Shop in San Jose (somewhere in Willow Glen, I think on Lincoln). Or Perry's Sporting Goods in Scotts Valley (on the Santa Cruz side), in the back of a building on Scotts Valley Drive.

If you have a Turners in your area somewhere, they usually have them in stock at some store within California, and will ship to the store you want to dros it at. Also grabagun has them available for shipping in, if you need. Grabagun has them for $1199, but Turners I’m not sure. They won’t list them online but as of yesterday I know they had some floating around within their stock.
