Has anyone taken the advanced hunter education class? I got an email notification for the up coming classes and I want to sign my 12 year old daughter up for for one. However, it doesn't show any information regarding fees to take the class. So I'm wondering if it's free or if there's a cost associated with it and how much? I guess I can just email them but it will take some time for me to get an answer. So I thought I'd also ask here. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

It should be free or very cheap to cover course materials . reminder all hunter safety teachers are 100% unpaid volunteers . They are great I took my middle son to a turkey one last year and it was great fun . TBH is was not advanced at all . And I think if the participant is a jr you need to be there .

I would encourage all to sign up for one that interests them
I think it one of the best things ca is doing with our license $$

I just did the advanced duck class through CDFW, it was free. It was really good though, three local wardens did the class and they all hunt or have hunted the refuge we were at so could give a bit of inside info.

I don't think I've heard of one being over 20 bucks, and if they're thst expensive they typically slay come with food and drinks

In the actual link for the page of the specific class, if it costs money, it will state it, in the info somewhere. If it doesn’t state anything about fee, then that means free. But you still need to sign the waiver.

Wait, are you talking about the one at Grizzly? I was at that class too. They had an old timer show us his waterfowl dog, did a demonstration, talked about different breeds, and price ranges to have the dog trained (don’t go for the lowest bidder). The wardens showed us the boat they bought before the deadline due to some California emissions thing?
