sure but it still has to go through the legislature and they can't just write it in when they want to. They absolutely could have just made every firearm part go through an FFL but they chose not to for whatever reason. As far as these new laws, we should all be paying attention to the regulation rulemaking and making public comments to make sure they aren't overstepping and just calling everything gun related an "accessory" because this bill should only apply to manufacturing firearms and not everything else. Manufacturing firearms has typically only applied to manufacturing a receiver and not assembling parts.

That's CA's favorite MO: keep it vague enough they can interpret it however they want to meet their ends.
That's the most dangerous part of this bill. It's one thing if I have to provide ID for a barrel (still dumb, but at least logically it is an integral part of a firearm needed for it's function, just like a bolt, firing pin, receiver, etc), but where's the line stop for "accessory"?
Grips? Magazines? Optics? Hardware like optic mounting screws? CLP?
They didn't say "parts", they said "accessory".
And also "firearm manufacturing machine"??

So they come at it from enough angles (multiple bills banning/restricting different things) to hamstring us from being able to purchase pretty much anything easily.

I think they definitely could have passed whatever bill they wanted to though, for those reasons. Luckily they have not, and it's going to be up to us to make sure they define it properly because we don't want what happened in WA to happen here where a bunch of retailers just don't ship there even though it's not banned to do so.

The biggest one iPostal will ship firearms parts or even re-ship ammo for you (I would bet the cost of reshipping ORM-D is probably high though). They won't ship firearms, which isnt really a problem if you aren't an FFL.

As mentioned above, this rule is only for California. Some retailers will not ship to virtual mailboxes, but mostly as a fraud prevention (or some restrictive retailers do this to prevent grey market sales) step rather than any real law. You can set a credit card to use your virtual mailbox to avoid billing address mismatch.

I try my best to stay away unless i absolutely have to... when it comes to their shipping even if you buy "next day air" shipping, they still dont fulfill orders for 48 hours... after that you get next day shipping

It's unfortunate cuz they actually tend to have some good prices on stuff, but between the shipping times etc, and the fact they don't like to ship perfectly legal items to CA... -_-
