Midway finally got some 175g Winchester Silvertips in stock, so I grabbed a box because I’ve always wanted to see if I could outdo the famous full power factory loading. New Nosler brass, FED 155 magnum primers, and Alliant Power Pistol propellant. And my first rodeo with my new Athlon RANGECRAFT Pro Radar Chronograph made the day that much more enjoyable, not having to set up the sky screens, tripod, and having to wait for ceasefire to make any placement adjustments. And the accuracy/usefulness of the little unit is outstanding. From the Athlon app:

Not bad at all. I don't load ammo. How much total $ per round does that roughly break down to?
I was going to get the Garmin until I found out about the Athlon, and get this - they accidentally sent me TWO!! So now I have one still in the box for sale! I got 500 pcs each of Nosler brass & Nosler 200g JHP projectiles for around $150, but I haven’t done the math adding primers & propellant, but I’m 100% positive factory Nosler full-power 10mm would cost at least 400% more than what I’m loading.

Thanks, I shoot the Sig 10mm. It gets into the 700 foot pounds. For 39.99 for a box of 50 I think it's fair

Which Sig 10mm? Did you chronograph your shots?? Which factory cartridges are you using which “gets into 700 ibs?” I’m curious.

Ouch.
I think the 10mm that I load is in the 10 cents a round neighborhood.

My bad, I jumped the gun. My memory was off. Just the basic 180 grain 10mm. My buddy did Chrono it and it was getting around the advertised 1250. That's not in the 700s. 625ish is good for me
I see. I would have been very surprised because to my knowledge, there is no factory 10mm Auto load which puts out anywhere near 800 ft lbs of kinetic energy. This 175g load was simply the top end of a ladder test to see how much horsepower I could squeeze out of this G20. When loading in bulk, my rule of thumb for high-performance 10mm is 165g - ~1400 fps / 180g - ~1300 fps / 200g - 1200 fps, and for plinking, I just knock a grain (propellant) off of those loads.
